I also notice that he only sets up the cymbals he wants to use on any given track. I've had to start doing that myself so I'm not tempted to start riding on the China during a ballad!

Anybody know what the SM57 above his music stand would be for? Is that just a talkback mic so he can communicate with Jimmy and Robben when they're in different booths?

Yes, VC has lowered his cymbals over the years from the 80's / 90's as has Weckl & others. Word has it he's also raised his throne a bit because of the potential back thing. Although that china seems to have become a bit higher than from the MDF 2000 DVD days...& then either Davids Copperfield or Blaine must've stepped in & *poof* - it's gone again... ;c)

Thouse pictures are just portrait shooting, the recording was made with the regular natural maple Gretsch that Vinnie has, that was just for promotional things of the drumset, I talk to Vinnie's drumtech.

Wow....cool pics. Notice how his cymbal positioning has come WAYYYY down, versus the old days (e.g. Joan Rivers days). I wonder how his seat height is, as well, if he's come up considerably, to save on his back.
