I really like the site...very minimalistic and not as overcrowded as some of the sites out there.
My only complain would be that the navigation/menue is right in the Deadbeat Sinatra writing and therefore looks a bit odd and the "news" topic is a bit hard to distinguish since it's red on red.
I have only very limited html skills, but if I was you, I'd do the "Deadbeat Sinatra" script as a picture instead of being text-based...then you can use any kind of font you'd like without having to worry about folks not having it installed on their computer and therefore cannot see it the way it was meant to be seen.
Btw is it meant to be that "Sinatra" is on the same level as "Deadbeat"? Know what I'm talking about? Here on my browser (Firefox) the two words are kind of merged together and are hard to distinguish.
Another minor thing imho is that on http://www.deadbeatsinatra.com/bandhomepage.htm , the writing blocks out one of the members (on the lower left)which doesn't look that nice...
Anyways...neat job on the homepage...I'm going to check out the song samples as soon as I find some time...
Damn, i didnt think of that.....you mean you have to have the font i use in my website installed on your computer for it to be seen correctly? I didnt think that was the case and still dont, but i will look into it. If That is an issue then and that is why all the spacing and layout is off and that is why the fonts all look plain.
i used Microsoft frontpage and i thought it was supposed to do this for me.

yeah that the only problem. You can maybe change the color of the font. i dont know much of html, but im learning. anay way killer site though. good sound. cool pictures.
Yeah, if you use text based links and or headers and the person doesn't have the font installed, they can't see it. It usually defaults to Times New Roman or some shit like that. The site looks pretty good to me, but I looked at the code and I have the fonts installed you're using.
My advice is get away from frontpage and get yourself a copy of Dreamweaver and adobe Photoshop.
Damn, im off to work right now and i have to put this on hold. I am going to have to fix that font problem when i get home tonight.
is there a way i can embed the fonts i used with the site into the site somehow so that everyone can view them? This threw off all the spacing. I liked the old typwriter fonts, the graffiti font on the shows page, and "pookie" throughout, but if i have to change them, it completely changes the look. Do i have to create an image file for my bands name so that i will be viewed properly?
thanks for the advice on the program. this is my first shot ever at a website and I basically taught myself.
I think you have to put a style sheet in your page in order to get the person viewing the page to see the correct fonts. I've designed a couple websites here and there and if you need any help I'd be more than happy to lend a hand.

Everything looks just fine and sounds it too.Great site.
<font size="2" face="verdana, arial">I don't think you can embed fonts...a solution would be to design something in Photoshop with that font of yours, save it as a jpeg, png or whatnot and then plant it on the spot on your site where you'd want it to be. This way everyone can see it the way you wanted it to be.Quote:

<font size="2" face="verdana, arial">I used Frontpage myself at one point in time and the software is really "idiot-proof", but also very limited once you set out to do something out of the norm. Dreammweaver is a program that goes beyond Frontpages but it also takes time to get aquainted with.Quote:

If you're interested in this subject, try to get a decent book on html and then you can go from there on and explore the beauty of CSS... ;-)
But anyways...it's the content that counts and no the stylish look.
If you are really interested in a super-cool fan-operated-site you have to check out Mazzy Star Boulevard to see the effort a fan put in for his favorite band...
