I believe that is Tom Scott and the LA Express playing that tune. the theme is just a chunk of the song "Gotcha".
I'd like to know what guy wrote the Room 222 theme and what kind of drugs was he on. It sounds like Don Ellis. Who writes a tv theme in 7, and for a Karen Valentine show? Maybe it was a joke.
I love the theme from SWAT. Damn that grooves.

me over the fence! I KNEW that
I had to find out who these
players were and to play like
them! I HAD to!
I am not sure if Guerin played
the drums on on it, though it
was Tom Scott and possibly the
rest of the band on it. It sounds
too heavy (more like Rick Marotta
but it does not even sound like
him). I think I would have to
guess Harvey Mason.

Carol Burnett's Theme is just a
great mix of big band/contemporary

Another tv serie i see now is called "Line of Fire" with also a Great drummer on it and i'll like to know who it is...
On old serie i loved drum on the intro in "New Avengers" (chapeau melon et botte de cuir in french ) and of course Strasky & Hutch [img]tongue.gif[/img]

The late great Jerry Goldsmith composed the theme to "Room 222."

Vinnie was also on the "A-Team" sound track... i think it was Mike Post who composed that (along with every other 80's show!).
I always thought it was Gadd on the Starsky theme, but I believe it is Marotta.
That Carol Burnet theme has a killer drum fill at the end which stirred my interest in the instrument as a little kid. I think those are tale tell signs of a drummer...that is when kids think about drum parts or get "hit" by a little fill that everyone else hears but doesn't listen to.
I have ALWAYS wanted MD to keep us informed on jingles, theme show recordings etc. I want to know who played on Mission Impossible shows--all those little drum parts that were so cool, Carol Burnet theme & The Odd Couple theme--again there are some very tasty fills in that theme.
I know Joe Porcaro & Emil Richards did a lot of TV theme stuff back then, as well as Marty Paich. Hmmm...I smell the likes of a TOTO [img]smile.gif[/img]
One of my favorite TV themes is from a little know show on the Fox network called "Against the Law". It went off the air about ten years ago. I stumbled across this by accident. It's some great drumming .... I swear it sounds like Vinnie? I would love for you all to hear it. I don't have a way to post the file but I can E-mail the mp3 to someone who can?
