i just got the clutch broke in and i've gotten on it about 5-6 times since then. noticed ALOT of white smoke on some full throttle runs and heres where im at now. pulled the plugs and they are white! from what i understand thats lean, right? and the compression results are as follows:
#1-147
#2-172
#3-195
#4-185
and heres a pic of the plug.

what do you guys think?
Has the car been tuned? What are you running for engine management?

yup, jim tuned it a few months back. gonna try and get a leak down test in the next few days.

What should be the PSI on a fresh type R be?
Although the insulator does look a bit on the light side, I find the chalk on the base of the ground strap more disturbing. This residue would indicate foreign intrusion... such as oil or coolant. Since your compression numbers are low, chances are good that it is oil. Burning oil reduces the combustion processes efficiency... thus requiring more fuel to compensate. This would be the reason the insulator is not that "caramel or light tan" color.
Is the car consuming any coolant ???
I ask because you mentioned that the car smokes WHITE while driving... which would indicate that you are burning coolant. However, if in fact the color is more of a BLUE/GREY, this is consistant with the buring of oil in the combustion cycle.
Many things to check:
1) The O-ring seal around the oil seperator box.
2) The 90' hose coming from the block going into the top of the oil seperator box.
3) The O-ring seal behind the oil cooler plate.
4) The oil filter.
5) The PCV valve and/or the hose leading from it to the bottom of the blower inlet neck just ahead of the throttle-body side of the blower itself.
