reason,
Please be assured that Sam was doing what he really wanted to do. I could have yelled at him and bullied him into participating, but he would have been sullen and resentful. He asked me if he could take a book with him, he asked me if he could sit somewhere and read it. I knew that he would enjoy that more than enforced socialization.
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">So he wasn't hiding because I didn't buy enough meat and didn't have a chair out for him? I think when I did my count I forgot to include myself. I kept thinking to myself, "7 guests" not even considering my ass also needs a place to sit.Quote:

I get so distracted when I'm busy or in unfamiliar situations that obvious stuff flies right by me. In my mind I'm buzzing, "I gotta do this, I gotta do that..." My brain starts churning, and it takes a while for it to slow down, so it ends up being difficult for me to be simulataneously socially aware and productive.
BTW, I intended to give you the home tour, but got distracted.
Psycho dog didn't actually bite your kid, did he? He was unusually fiesty last night, even for him.
I'd like to point out that reason was a wonderful host and that his house passed the white glove test.
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">You are only saying that because you walked out the door with 2.5 steaks and a couple loaves of Panera bread.Quote:

No one was bitten, you had enough steaks, my social son was social and my son who prefers reading to chatting with a bunch of adults did that. You had enough chairs.
It was a magical evening.
Dulc,
You are ever so gracious, and I appreciate the preemptive thank you. However...
I would like to tell you how mortified I am and truly apologize. Please forgive me and please be assured it was totally unintentional. Let me just say I've been going nonstop since last Monday, and I guess it took its toll.
I was laying bed. Couldn't sleep. Couldn't sleep. Something was bothering me about the night and I couldn't place my finger on it.
Once I figured out what a complete idiot I am, i had to write immediately. Since I don't have laptop set up yet, I came down to Jacob's on Hamilton, where they have a computer set up.
Why didn't anyone say anything? I thought the kid was like my 15 year old nephew who no longer likes to hang out with the grown ups.
We had plenty of food, even if I can't count. I even have the extra chair. I spent too much time and effort for this kind of screw up.
With that said, I'm really glad you came, and I would have been happy to feed all. Everybody, please accept my apology.
