Ok, so I only have 2 days left on my FC membership...and I'm checking in coz of the new photos (ooooh, 3 of them!) posted.
Anywho, wandering through the FC forum, and someone's posted a thread about being able to download SB.
So, place your bets on how long THAT will last.... [img]biggrin.gif[/img]
...Annnnd, less than two hours. May have been less...I was busy [img]smile.gif[/img]
Oh, and I guess I came across as sounding a little sarcastic. Solly. Understanding managements position on copywrite/downloading, and my own stance on it, I was fully expecting a swift action.
Can't wait to see if SB will be available on iTunes. I might make the effort to find an Apple store in the states and buy it (coz I'm taking my new toy with me).

There was a thread there about 5 days ago that a girl said that she was emailing a station to request SB to be played and that she was kind of spamming them and of course everyone that thinks they are someone jumped down her throat.
I'm sure her intentions were good and she didn't really know what she was doing. But instead of really explaining that nicely they made her feel like she was some sort of plague on the whole promotion process. Then the thread was deleted.
I really wish people would treat others with the same kindness they themselves wish to be treated.
Gawd heaven forbid we ever make a mistake.

Wonders just what the tv/radio etc would think if someone kindly directed them to the official voting/promoting tips or specific topics, then again I'm sure it happens in most fanbases. I still believe certain sections of this fanbase have the power to hinder/damage rather than help Darren.
I would like to see Darren's talent get the recognition it deserves, but honestly and that is part of why I now feel the way I do about him *sigh*

lol thats funny.
I remember the days when those threads would become something very creative and fun without making people feel bad, of course if the person asked in all innocents. We would attack the noob that only came to make trouble. Those were few and far between thought.

I do think though, that we are tense (ok, maybe I shouldn't use the word "we" because not everyone feels this way) because of the strength of commitment D's fans have had in the past. People have wanted him to be played on the radio so badly that when he wasn't (or it appeared as if he wasn't) they got pissed off and made, to some stations and some dj's, some not-so-favorable impressions.
I'm rather surprised someone like Schooly even likes us at all lol. I mean, he was sent hate mail when he didn't play something by Darren that he mentioned he would. So, I guess defenses go up; but not for any other reason than wanting to protect Darren and his music, and to know it can get fairly played on radio and not disregarded because of the reputation this fanbase has created for itself, in the past.
No Laurie you weren't even here. It was a one page kind of thread. The girl seems new to me but I'm not really involved with all the inner workings of that board. So she might be the one you've mentioned.
But then this raises the issue that the press or any DJ that comes on that board would never know the inner workings either and not fulling understand why this was happening. I think to protect Darren would be to act civil and kind to one another. I know people will disagree and not always like eachother but such is life anywhere you go.
I'm surprised if Schooly ever takes another DH fan serioulsy again. I will never condone anyone flying off the handle for an artist or a song.
Do you know Schooly's thoughts on the fanbase now?
