Trav's surgery

I'm pleased to let you all know that the surgery went well and without complications.

When I left Trav at Good Sam, he was moving around and making noises about wanting to eat, so I know he's just fine. [img]wink.gif[/img]

Yay! My mother went through something similar, but less extensive earlier this year - I think 3 were fused in her neck. Post recovery she was completely pain free! Amazing. Now some cricks and things are coming back a little, but I s'pose that's normal at 73 or so...

Thanks, Lan. That's great about your Mom and gives me hope. Mebbe she'd like to go out on the bike with Trav in the spring? They could compare scars or something.

I know all surgery comes with possible complications, but we have EIGHT single spaced pages of things that could have gone wrong. [img]eek.gif[/img]

The ladies in pink who staff the surgical waiting area are wonderful. Trav's surgery was pushed back 90 minutes, and they kept letting me know what was going on. And may I please say a special thank you to the 7th floor nurse who brought me a warmed blanket. My only complaint about today (other than actually being at the hospital) is that it is TOO COLD.

Good to hear that it went well.

I extend "Get Well Wishes" to trav for a speedy recovery.

Edited to add: If 2006 finds me complaining about more physical ailments, just come and shoot us, OK?

gae - I'm glad the surgery went well. As for the "more physical ailments in 2006" bit - let me tell you about some of my problems!!!!!!
In additiong to my usual ailments - high blood pressure, high cholesterol (sp?), blood thinners to guard against another stroke, glaucoma etc., in the past two month I have made four trips to my podiatrist for something called pantars/fachitis (don't know the correct spelling for this one either & am too lazy ti check it in the dictionary) & was told that it is healing-slowly, have had a colonoscopy & yesterday, after being on antibiotics for more than three weeks, I had a large molar extracted. So, I can assure you that as you get older you WILL have more & more physical ailments but given the alternative, it shouldn't be TOO bad.
