I was expecting a little more with that big build up but it wasnt that bad... The stage/lighting is cool.

That's the drummer for X JAPAN - the Iron Maiden or Metallica of Japan basically.

Warning: this video is more like a SOAP OPERA than a drum solo... the guy is melodramatic to the max and even weeps on his drums after his solo... which occurs after the pompous orchestral intro music! LMAO

Didn't this guy commit suicide recently? Or perhaps it was their lead singer. Anyhow...

i dont think it was that recent that the singer commited suicide. It was when i was still in japan... i think it mighta been like 7 years ago or so already...

it was pretty big man. I think it was all over the news. so many people were at he funeral and i think i heard that people actually committed suicide themselves after hearing the news! YIKES!

hey CL you mean like bad as in cool/good or like literally bad? I personaly was pretty wierded out.

as Cl says, that solo is a big show! There is some freaky orchestral music for like 3 minutes then like a 1 minute double bass bashing around the toms solo and then he passes out or starts weeping or whatever then starts getting up again with the orchestral music.

When i used to frequent other forums i heard this guy broke his arms once playing drums

I lost interest pretty quickly...the video editing was giving me a headache- I almost had a seizure.

I think as of now I'm also gonna start praying before launching into one of my infamous solos.

Yeah I think this guy had some serious physical problems due to his totally technique-free bashing... not sure if he broke his arms, but it wouldn't surprise me!

One of Krupa and Hampton. I think this is on my Jazz drummers DVD. Look at the kits man. 4 drums, 2 cymbals and the HH's. That was the standard. Amazing huh??
