Any of you guys use these with smaller bass drums? I've been considering using one with my 20 inch bass drum.
I've looked at the DW version, which seems a bit much as far as hardware but very stable.
The Damico version looks even more stable but again a lot of hardware to carry around.
Gibraltar has this little version that attaches to the bass drum hoop. Much cheaper and smaller but I wonder if it is very stable.
Anyone have experience with any of these?

Just toying with the idea of getting my bass drum beater directly in the center of the drum; for a purer sound. Not that the sound now is all that bad but was wondering if others have had success with these bass drum cradle things.
I lift a 20" Pearl BD with the Gibraltar lift. It sounds GREAT and it's SOLID! The only thing I had to do was have the spurs extended so the reso side of the drum can still be positioned higher than the batter side.
I wouldn't lift a 20". Maybe an 18" or smaller. I actually don't think that the bass drum sounds as good when it is struck dead center.
i tried the gibraltar bass drum hoop clamp lifter thingy. i didn't likeit, cuz it chewed away at my hoop and the shaft of the beater ended up hitting the bass drum hoop as well. yamaha's 18" kick hoop has a small divit on their hoop to give clearance to the shaft. their lifter system is really well thought out. if i were you, i'd just get the dw. it's half the price of d'amico and is solid. i'm planning on getting this to use my 16" flr tom and make my 10/14 toms into a hip gig. for those cafe gigs. hope this helps. 20" basses sound pretty wicked without the lifters. Experiment and find the best sound for you (probably best to do this at a drum shop or something).

Migirian makes a good bass drum, might be what you're looking for. Square and all.
