A few of my AG loving friends think it is a bit odd to do this...I dont think it is! I only HAVE historicals! (well, and Marisol [img]wink.gif[/img] )
I sometimes feel guilty for doing this for some really odd reason.....like im cheeting my poor girls out of their past. haha.
We do it all the time. No problem. But we rarely share historical clothes between girls. It just doesn't look right to me.
I have 2 historicals (Kirsten and Nellie) and I put them in modern clothes.
I know some people only put each doll in their period clothes, including today, but our Addy and Kit both like to wear their clothes and modern clothes.
Addy is about to get some of Kirsten's clothes, too, that I think are appropriate.
Also, dd really wants one of Elizabeth's dresses, but I honestly can't see either one of them in one of those. . . .

My Shantelle(rewigged Addy)wears modern clothes because I made her into a today girl but she wore Molly's evergreen velvet dress for Christmas. She was especially pretty in that one.
All my dolls swap clothes. Is is accurate? Of course not. Do I care? Not particiuraly.
As far as I am concerned , all my dolls are modern girls. Some of them just happen to look ALOT like certain historical book characters, and enjoy dressing like them.
My white bodied Molly has always worn "modern" clothes. DH found her at Goodwill in a doll size nightgown, so I had to use what we had available (which were some handmade ebay purchased clothes). I really thought she was an AGOT since her hair was perfectly straight (until I found this board and y'all straightened me out!) She's also fond of some of Angie's (GillyGals) sweater and pant sets, and is currently wearing the TollyGirls camo set which cost all of $3.00 on clearance, and is in honor of DH, who absolutely loved anything camo!
But our dolly clothes closet has grown to include some of Molly's "genuine" outfits, so I guess she could wear some of her own now, if she wanted! (They were a present for my youngest daughter's Molly).

I have Kit an Samantha, and except for Kit wearing her Christmas dess over the holidays, they never wear historical outfits. Right now Sam is wearing the Fly Fishing outfit, and she looks adorable. [img]smile.gif[/img] My favorite outfit for Kit is the Play outfit. Out of all my dolls and outfits, I think that it is the best combo I've ever seen. [img]graemlins/thumbs_up.gif[/img]

The only historical that I dress in modern clothes is Kaya. She wears Native American clothing and modern clothing. I'm not sure why I do this, but I do. I guess it's because I only have 1 outfit for Kaya besides her meet outfit.
I feel sinful if I even think of putting them in out of period clothes.
