Dr Who

Out of interest, is anyone here looking forward to the new Dr Who series? I just wonder in British sci-fi makes much of a dent in the US. Anyway, it's on the Sci-Fi channel soon, (St Patrick's Day, I think) and it's worth a look. Bear in mind, it's aimed at/suitable for children.

It is most excellent up until the last 20 minutes of the last episode, which was such a let down. But it is certainly worth the watching.

If I can remember to catch it, I'd watch it out of curiosity. I never really watched it when I was a kid except for catching a few snippets here and there (the Tom Baker "Who", that is), but I kinda thought I'd really like it if I ever sat down to watch it.

I did very much like "The Tomorrow People" back when Nickelodeon was the new station on the block.

Dr. Who happens to be fairly popular here (or was) as I recall. Since I don't have cable, I'll be missing it for now-unless it appears on DVD soon.

I didn't catch much of it back when I was a kid, but I always had the feeling I was missing something.

You do not need to have seen any old Dr. Who in order to enjoy this season. It acknowledges it's past without needing it.

Bro in Law grabbed the Eckelsby series off the net and sent BF a copy, so I've seen the whole season. Don't give up on it, just because of 20 minutes.

Hurrah. I'm glad. I know what you mean about the last 20 minutes, but then that episode was changed during production as various things happened while making the show. Don't want to give away spoilers, though.

I was not aware of this, but am interested in learning now. Mind shoot me off an e-mail/private message with what happened.

I'm not happy with the American cuts as they seem to be cutting out sceenes I enjoyed (most being when the Doctor and Rose are seriously flirting).

I had to post on this thread topic being a major Dr. Who fan (yeah I am a dork). I have probably seen most of the series (doctors 1-7)twice. Thanks PBS, I just wish that they would show the news ones also. So sad not to have cable now.
