Re: Fast food around here
Hey, I hear ya man. The last time I ate at the Big Stone McDonalds, it was terrible.
Taco Bell wasn't so bad (because the last time I got a bean burrito from there it was actually decent - which was surprising), but McDonalds has always given me problems.
If you want to see something bad, try eating at the one in the SuperCenter WalMart. It seems like every time I've even TRIED to get something from there, it either takes an hour to get the food (Fast food my [censored]) or the food ends up being crappy and sloppily made.. ehrm.. slapped together.

, but when we got home, noticed that 2 double cheeseburgers have been left out and no sauce for our chicken nuggets. if you can believe that. Seems like every time I've been to McD's down here in the last 2 months or so, 75% of the time, my order has been wrong in some fashion. What happened to the "quality check" they were supposed to do before handing you your order? Apparently, their standards have gotten a little lax.

what ever happened to you checking the order before you left the store???
Re: Fast food around here
You sound like a fast-food employee. How about do your damned job right? When you buy something at Wal-Mart, do you open the box check to make sure all of the parts are there? No. It is expected by any reasonable person that when you go to order food, order 4-5 items that Billy Bob Booger Eater can count to 4-5 and put the right thing in the freaking bag. It's not the consumers job to have to double check everything some overpaid (even at minimum wage) idiot is supposed to do for themselves.
Re: Fast food around here
I will second that thought....
but I will also add to this thread... go to Arby's.. get the number 10 with Roast Turkey...sit back and enjoy, you'll be glad you did.. [img]/LDPforum/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/getsmile.tmp007816300.gif[/img]
Re: Fast food around here
It may of just been Friday i don't know. But yesterday working in the boonies.
We send a person out to get an order we had pre ordered. And here we were it hot as crap were all starved, done worked for 7 hrs, and had about 4 more to go.
Two of our meals were left out. Now explain that to hungry working men. Who are working to get a little community back in service. Let's say i was more than a little pissed.
Pack of nabs don't fill your [censored] stomach, when your out before daylight working, you an place an order, to get most of it left off. May sound trivial to some. But when your stuck out in no where and that is your only meal till you get home. Yeah it will [censored] you off.
It's called a little pride in your job.

*clap clap clap clap* standing up now *clap clap clap whistle*
Hit the nail on the head there Ironlung. Why does the customer have to check the food when it is supposed to be "double checked for quality"?
As for the BSG McD's I have learned to check my order so I can go and friggin stand in the stinking store for 10 minutes for someone to say can I help you then look at me funny and turn and ask the person at the window who has no clue what happened, as far as they are concerned the food was handed out. Never really had trouble with Taco Bell though.
Re: Fast food around here
It all starts with management and ownership guys. For one, when someone makes minimum wage, they arent going to care very much about how they do their job as long as they get paid. There is very little incentive to work hard. In this area, there are less and less kids that want to work at fast food restaurants and less and less people over all. Look at it this way, all of these businesses are just recycling each others rejects and people that have been fired. There is no way you are going to be able to operate a business successfully when that happens. What to do? Well, first the incentive for working at a place like this is going to have to increase. A fast food restaurant that raised their wages to say 7-8 dollars per worker would probably see a dramatic rise in production because more people would be interested in the job and your quality of workers would go up. If that happens, you probably see a rise in production as well. There are instances of this scenario in the united states and it has been a positive outcome.
Same thing goes with the american work force in general. In European Countries, citizens arent allowed to work more than about 30 hours a week, usually a 8-2 shift with weekends off. In that case, you have more productive workers, you have healthier and less stressed workers, longer life expectancy rate, more time to exercise, and greater overall production. Per Capita, the European Countries kill the United States. The human body can only take so much before its overloaded. Just think of all the time we p iss away at work.
Re: Fast food around here
That may be a lot of it. But one thing here. Fast Food and these other places don't and won't pay to retain good help.
I hate to say it. But most will squeeze a dollar till they get blood out of it.
If they would pay a good wage it would help. Everyone yells raise minimum wage. All that does is kill those who are just above it.
It's gonna take people complaining and fast food and companies here actually paying actually realizing it's about service and your customers. Hate to say it. But one thing that kills us. No one will complain to management.
Get the pay to 7-9 dollars and hr. See if you don't keep good people. And see if your business don't pick up.
But so would some who have a desire to do a decent job. Got to take a little pride in anything you do. Even if you ain't gonna do it all your life, heck at least do a good job while your there.
Re: Fast food around here
We were on our way home from Georgia last week. And we were going through South Carolina. We stopped in Columbia at a McDonaals and it was terrible. People that worked the registers were over there, not busy and seeing this many customers, just stood there.
I work part time myself at fast food and I understand how it can get but that's just ridiculous.
