... I know many won't care but I'm stressed about it, so I'm venting. (For me, my dogs are my kids.)
Our youngest dachshund stopped eating on Saturday. She got progressively worse Sunday, and overnight (vomiting, dehydrated).
She couldnt even keep down Pedialyte.
My sister has taken her to Dr. Donna and I'm waiting to hear from them now. (She puked the whole way down there and then layed down and stopped moving.)

I hate when a pet is sick.
I mean they tell you so much by actions, but unfortunately they can't tell you whats wrong.
I've been paranoid about any food/treats that I give mine lately, especially with the constantly increasing list of tainted foods and such.
Do you think it might be parvo? Sort of sounds like it to me I am afraid.
She's fully vaccinated. Her next parvo/distemper booster isn't due until September. It's similar syptoms though, I agree.
The first thing I fear is a blockage - she tends to eat non-food items. We're very careful about what is kept within her reach, but those dogs are smarter and sneakier than we give them credit for. Next thing I worry about is did she catch something from the creek she was in Wednesday & Thursday.
I'm waiting to hear from my sister at the vets - she doesn't have a cell phone signal down there so she can't update me easily.
Just got a little bit of an update
Don't have a lot of info yet:
They're keeping her overnight (not a shocker).
She's very Dehydrated (this we knew).
Xray showed no obstruction.
Had to spin her blood twice to check for electrolytes.
They're giving her something for vomiting (she still vomiting tons). If she continues to vomit after getting her IV they'll give her barium and check for obstruction again. Blood work is being done. I'm going to go there and give her a quick visit at lunch.
Supposedly, a dog that we used to have (got too big, it was my parents dog, and they couldn't deal with it, was knocking them down which isn't good), died of Parvo even though it was fully vacinated and everything.
Had a cat that we had forever died recently with its system shutting down, and while dad didn't have any of the cans, he had fed it lots of the different types that have now been itentified as contaminated.
Hopefully yours is just something minor
Sounds like parvo, I had a "mexican ankle biter" once and it contracted parvo and died. He had all his shots. It just about killed my daughter.
Hope the dog gets better.
Well we now know it's not parvo - had the full blood work done.
But what it IS hasn't yet been determined.
She wagged her tail for me when I went to see her. She hasn't vomited in about an hour and half so far.
Keeping our fingers crossed.
None of the food she's fed is on the recall list, but as we all know that listed is updated with new brands and types daily.
Donna is very good at what she does. The IVs and meds should be kicking in soon.
