Week 1 thoughts

I thought Clintwood looked good they scored on all but there last posision of the game and did it through the air and on the ground.

Good points : 1) The QB is SMART and make good dissions and has a better arm than last season as well as being a step faster. 2) Backup players looked very solid they scored a 2nd half TD and almost helped pitch a shutout (Coburn scored in the final Min of the game)

Bad Points : 1) To many penalitys 2) Neep to protect the ball better 2 fumbals (even though Clintwood got them both back) and dropping an INT will not cut it vs better teams




PV may start talking about bringing back the spread if they do not have a better showing over the next few weeks

Appy may not oppose consoladation the next go around if the season continues on this path

Burton is as fast as ever and are more than capable of winning the district again still no word on how there QB will preform under pressure

Kelly is starting off strong and may be a real player in who wins the LPD

Pound looks to be a much improved team and while I don't see them in the playoff picture this season i do see a much better record

I'm not really sure what you all expected out of PV. Honestly, I figured we would lose to Lee High, and hell we should have. They have twice the team we do. We just have better coaching. I don't care who you are if you lose 10 starters on offense your going to struggle. They are improving every week, I prefer that we go to the T but thats just me.

I was very surprised by the 6-0 score. I hadn't seen PV but had seen Lee and Lebanon twice against Kelly.

Lee didn't seem like a team that could compete with what I was expecting from PV.

They didn't look very good defensively in the jamboree at Norton, especially against Burton. They've got good skill people in QB Tyler Mullins and receiver Scotty Woliver, but the line seemed a bit soft. Lee did drive the ball the length of the field against Burton 3 times but I thought that was mainly due to Burton missing a couple of defensive starters.

Lebanon seemed to be a much better team than Lee.

I was not trying to bad mouth PV but was suprised that Lee pitched a shutout for 4 qtrs and with Lebanon and Richlands comming in the next 2 weeks with what should be better Ds than Lee I wonder how long Phil will let things play out

PV will get better as the season goes on. If they can keep their heads above water early, they'll develop into a good team. An overtime victory in game one is a start, especially since many were predicting them to start the season 0-5.

I think PV will do fine if they get Burke starting at QB where he should be. But, that will never happen.

Why not?

Because Lusk was a done deal couple years ago.

I'm not sure of the QB situation and I have no clue about PV and who plays were but, Burke should be on defense as well as lusk too.(They may already be, no clue)

I really don't have a preference but they need to pick one. I do think it's ridiculous that they change QB's mid-drive. Against, Lee High Lusk completed a pass, and the next play they put Burke in???? I don't care who plays but don't switch QB's mid drive.
