UTVOLS2 (Gambling)

I challenge you, well, want to see how you think more than anything, to a sports betting proposition. I have no clue what to play for but just thought it would be cool to post our thoughts. Especially since living in Appalachia prohibits me from texting you to share ideas. Anyway my first pick:

New York Giants -3
Washington Redskins

Giants are playing for their life basically. Green Bay losing gives them even more hope. Washington, who the hell knows what is going on. New general manger, lame duck coach, probably lame duck QB, etc.

By the way, I'm not betting this game. Rule 1, never ever, under any circumstances bet against your team or in favor of your team for that matter if you are trying to be serious about it.

I like this PVFAN, btw, I missed a 6 team parlay today because of the NY Jets losing to Atlanta. Had I not missed that game, it paid $14.71 on the dollar.

Also got Southern Miss straight up parlayed with over of 59.

Back to your question. The NY Giants/Washington game is a tough call, more than likely I wouldn't bet on it because there are way to many variables in this one. BUT, if I had to bet on this one I would take the Giants -3 and the under of 43.5 because of weather.

Normally on games like these I just bet the over/under because it could go either way. Especially because prior to beating Oakland, Washington lost 3 games by a total of 7 points. They have also covered the spread in the their previous 5.

Couldn't you have started off with an easier one. I like this thread though, good stuff. As far as what to play for who knows, let's just try a few and see where it goes. We can keep a tally of W-L on games we predict or whatever, it doesn't matter just sounds like fun.

I'll be honest, I never look at trends to much unless it is against the same team, especially at the pro level. Jets choked today, should have won by 2-3 scores. Pathetic performance really, Sanchez has killed them.

He started out on fire this year but since has choked all year long. Teams are now starting to throw 8-9 men in the box against them and trying their best to make Sanchez beat them. It is amazing that TJ even has 1,200 yards this year.

Also last week they were playing the worst rush defense in the league and I put a pretty good amount of money on TJ going over 99.5, he ended with 99. That was one of the worst loses I have had.

I do decent but by no means will I be a John Anthony anytime soon. I did pretty well during baseball season but generally break even.

I don't do sports much, generally just poker. I'm on a site now that lets you use your poker money for sportsbook as well so I'll go over and play around. Will you do me a favor and see if sportsbook.com is working for you? (where I play) I'm on the poker software but can't get to the lines. I'm PokerWise on there by the way if you ever get on.

That is one thing I like about Bodog too is you can play poker, casino, and sports betting. And use the same money for all of them. I just checked sportsbook and I can get on the lines.

Well I got the Giants -3 right but bricked on the under. I would have never imagined NY putting up that many points this week.

I didn't think it would be much of a game, agreed on the Giants putting up that many points, I didn't see that coming. I try to avoid the o/u mainly due to my ignorance.

If I were betting on tonight's Las Vegas Bowl I would probably go Oregon St straight up and if I had to pick over/under I would take the over of 59.

I hate picking Bowl Games though because you never know who is gonna show up, ala Alabama last year.
