My mom who is a teacher in Coeburn has just told me that they are not going to be on heat Sched. Thursday and Friday. Does anybody think that this is the dumbest idea on earth because the heat indexes are forecasted to be in the 100-105 range?

We didn't have a heat schedule when I went to school. As a matter of fact, we didn't have "snow" schedules until like 1970.

Quick question, is Wise Co. the only place in the area that needs a heat schedule? I don't know about ****enson Co., but I'm pretty sure Russell doesn't have one and I know for sure Norton doesn't.
Lee County doesn't. Lee High has central air and all of the other schools have an air conditioner in each classroom. I just can't see how they expect a kid to learn anything by sitting in a 90-100 degree classroom, not to mention the health risks for them.
There's a 40% chance (as of now acc. to the NWS) of rain/storms Thursday and Friday, with that and cloud clover most places probably won't get very high. Still haven't reached heat advisory criteria yet either. Those heat index values of 100-105 are also just for the southern and central portions of TN.
