Just wondering what school names and ideas you all absolutely hate. Off the top of my head I hate the thought of naming them with directions. Also I don't think I like anything Highlander or highlandish. Not a fan of trying to mix 2 old school names either
Someone mentioned Stone Mountain for the name of the Appy BSG school the more I think about that the more I like it.
Stone Mountain isn't bad. It sure will be odd seeing some of these names for the first time when I get my football assignments.
For me i don't want to see anything that has Wise in it for any of the schools.
Examples: Wise Central, Wise East, Wise West.
DO NOT LIKE ANY OF THESE!!!!!!!!!!
I would like to see something different that includes things from both towns.
Here are some ideas.
PV/Appy: Stone Mtn., Stone Ridge, Riverside mascot Miners or ???
Coeburn/St.Paul: Sandy Ridge, Bull Run, Clinch Mtn. mascot Cougars or Mtn. Lions
JJK/Pound: Indian Creek, Hickory Gap, Birchfield, mascot Warriors or Red Hawks
Miners seems to be to only thing I can think of for PV/Appy
Coeburn/St.Paul is the hardest one of the three.
I like the Indian Creek but I don't think it would be allowed.
These are only my ideas. Hope this gets everyones minds going
I oppose any name or mascot having to do with snakes. I can just see some kids bringing their live mascot(s) to a game.

Why do I keep seeing Clinch Mt. for the Coe/SP school. Is Clinch Mt. not in Tazewell/Smyth/Russell Counties?
I can say that the leaning is towards a name associated to the Guest and Clinch Rivers. Since each town closely associates with the rivers and have festivals named after them. Twin Rivers has been thrown around but I don't like that since we already have a few "Twin" schools in this area now. I did submit River Run myself since it encompasses the river and Bull Run which connects the two towns. Also like Crusaders for the mascot, you get the the religious Deacon and Knight together. Found this pic the other day and thought it was cool.

When is WC going to make there dission? I ask becouse DC has been doing there selection precess for about 6 months now and 2 of there top 5 picks seem to be popular with WC as well (Hawks and Miners) I just do not want to see us dobble up on the name LOL
