Ok, this isn't a Honda...actually, it's a piece of crap http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/smile.gif but I just wanted to post some HP numbers as dynoed by SCC this month so everyone might have an idea what items will add:
Car: POS! dodge neon...not sure the year, newer, who cares http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/smile.gif
Exhaust: CNNP (??? what the!) vs. stock
stock HP - 110
CNNP exhaust only HP - 112
(Peak gain of 5.5 HP)
Intake: AEM (with CNNP exhaust)
stock HP - 112
AEM (CNNP) - 114
(Peak gain of 2.5 hp)
Pulley: Unorthodox Racing
pre pulley - 114
w/pulley (cnnp/aem) - 116
(Peak gain of 4.7 hp)
ECU: DOHC Tuned on a SOHC car
pre ECU - 116
w/ECU - 116
(gain in torque though, max hp gain 6.1 hp, with a max HP LOSS of 6.4 hp at high rpm)
Header: Kirk header and random tech cat
basically added a dyno hp gain of 7hp, max hp gain being 7.9 hp and 2 lbs of torque
Throttle body: RC engineering
added 2 hp, with a peak hp gain of 5.0 and 3 lbs of torque
Cam gear: AEM
added 1 hp, with a peak hp of 1.6 and 1 lb of torque.
verdict? In my opinion http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/smile.gif To start out with 110 hp, and end up with 126 hp?! wow, what a waste of cash! either the products weren't the best...that car just can't be made fast..or...or....well, not sure on anything else http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/smile.gif I've seen larger HP gains on 00 Si's with just exhaust...basically, it takes alot of money, and alot of mods to get a "noticable" amount of power.
I still think the Honda's are better at making more power when being freed up. that Neon was ridiculous on the amount of mods for so little gain...

well...a header company called hytechheaders did a Type R header that dynoed at over 21hp! with cam gears. that's amazing!
and SKUNK2 intake manifolds are putting 7-15 hp over stock, and there cams are doing 17hp over stock!

can't say i'm much of a neon enthusist myself hehe. But for what they are they can easily be made quick. Yea the SOHC's don't really get overly huge gains from what i've seen, course my engine is also a single cam so I can't talk http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/tongue.gif. More or less the DOHC 2.0 is their motor of choice. My friend I race with has a DOHC neon that ran a 15.6 stock. A few basic mods later (like half that list you have up there lol) his fastest is a 15.2 which ain't to shabby for just a few basic bolt-ons. But thats a DOHC for you compared to a SOHC. Keep in mind i've heard all the horror stories of new Si owners putting intakes on their cars and giving up low end power just for a bit of top end. On the other side of the that debate...if anyone looks in the Import tuner power pages from a little while ago, they did a new RSX-S...from a intake and catback exhaust that car gained almost 21 HP...for a NA 4 banger thats a shitload for just two mods. Intake manifolds and cams generally aren't considered a "bolt-on". http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/wink.gif
Anyway, i liked the article, however you pretty much hit the nail on the head when you commented that the parts they picked might not have been the best.
