Well, I've survived my first (half) day. http://www.hostboard.com/forums/ It was pretty nerve-wracking but I don;t think that I made a fool of myself (at least, I hope that I didn't http://www.hostboard.com/forums/ *lol*). It turns out that I'm one of 5 adults (1 teacher who also happens to be the deputy head of the school and 3 other LSA's) in a class of 7 pupils. They're all boys from the age of 6 up to about 8 and they all have some degree of special educational needs, be it for hearing, speech or behavioural difficulties. They are really sweet kids though and I've already made myself a little friend called Micheal who held my hand on the way back to the classroom after assembly was over and who also drew a picture of me. http://www.hostboard.com/forums/ *awww* There's another little boy starting next week who's 3 and who has a severe hearing disability so that'll make 8 pupils in all. I will be expected to learn how to sign and I'm so looking forward to doing that. It's something that I've always meant to learn how to do but have never got around to doing it.
So, that's my first day in the bank, so to speak and I'm already looking forward to tomorrow. http://www.hostboard.com/forums/

I used to do sign language when I was at college so that I could talk to the deaf people that were there and it's quite easy to learn [img]smile.gif[/img] if I remember correctly, the vowels are spelt out like this:
A is the thumb and then E is the index finger and so on [img]smile.gif[/img]
They also taught me some rude signs I think, but I have forgotten those lol
