About that hand: Churchill likes to exaggerate anatomy. He just insisted on drawing every single hand muscle as though he were illustrating some kind of mutant dictionary of anatomy.

It wasn't all that great, although the Alex Ross designs are pretty friggin' cool. The "Design the Next X-Man" contest is actually a "Design the new charcter for Th Brotherhood book"

While Ross's uniform for Kurt looks like some kind of absurd synchronized swimming costume, that close-up of his face is absolutely fantastic. He looks like a mad scientist!
