It may take years for American Citizens to realize partial blame for the terrorists attack stems from Arrogant Corporate Behavior by American Companies in foreign countries over the last few decades.
The problem is, any attempt to discuss the terrorist attack on more than one level will only result in a heated discussion based solely on revenge and retribution.
I've had a bad feeling about American Corporate Power for many years....and I have come to believe change will never happen.
It's amazing that it takes insane terrorists to make us pause and reflect...
.....of course, all we are going to do in this country is pause and reflect on how to get revenge and justice.
The parallels between Religious Fanaticism and Corporate Fanaticism are
Self-Evident. Both Believe what they Believe, and either you are one of them, or you are against them.
American Corporations have no Ethics Advisors on Staff...you will find a Board of Directors, Lawyers, CEO's, Efficiency Experts and Lobbyists....... but no Ethics Advisors.
Yet we lecture the rest of the World about "Freedom" and "Rights"?
Freedom to make as much Money as possible, and the Right to make as much Profit as possible? Is that all that matters?
....That is the cause we may go to War Over, the Freedom and Right to make profit without any Ethical Standards?
Ethics Advisors are Bad for Corporate America's Business....
....and since the only bottom line Corporate America Understands is Profit, and APPEASING SHAREHOLDERS, any Respect of Ethics ALWAYS play Second Fiddle to Profits, and in fact, ethics may not even enter in to the equation at all for most of Corporate America.....
.....WILL ANYONE ARGUE AGAINST THIS POINT ????
Don't you find it even a Remote possibility that the Lack of an Ethics Job Position in the American Corporate Landscape
may mean that American Corporations have done hurtful things around the globe in the last few decades?
Don't you want to know?
Don't you want to know BEFORE you follow Corporate America into a Global War?

War is good for the economy, the United States citizens like having a bloated economy and will do almost anything to keep their lifestyle on the upswing. Everyone is thinking only of revenge and how to get even.
That's it.

The Upswing theory...hmmmmm
That would explain the insane banter about our stock market.
It just keeps growing and growing and growing,
growing at an unrealistically fast pace that just means we are consuming at an ever faster pace...is that really a good thing?
Well, not for now.

Well if one looks at history, which no one ever does until it is too late, this is similar to the growth just before every other crash. People think the stock market is going to keep going up forever, so they invest everything in risky-high-growth stocks. Then something happens and it starts to go down a little and everyone panicks. Why would right now be different from any other time in history?

This time was a little different.
This time it was stopped by an act of terrorism.
But basing the success of what our country stands for by the success of our stock market is the biggest tragedy of all, well, second only to what it took for us to notice....and of course, most people still don't see our stock market obsession as a bad thing.

Even though Arrianna Huffington wrote this 5 years before I wrote mine, I never saw her article until just now. http://www.ariannaonline.com/columns/files/040196.html

Full circle, the president agrees with me.

I used to post on an environmental forum, all kinds of stuff about corporate responsibility, about how quarterly reports are causing corporations to lie...etc...
ALL of those topics are in the news now. I stopped posting on the environmental forum because of the conservative morons who believe Corporate America can do no wrong.
I was a year ahead of my time.

i used to think modern day piracy was something associated with cds and dvds which come from thailand. that is until i realised modern day piracy is still happening (of the swashbuckling kind).
people don't realise things until it blows up in their face.

Their was a quote in the Japanese Papers that with the recent tumble of the U.S. Stock Market perhaps we will see the end of the corporate executive pocketing 20 million a year for making their stock look good.
This whole issue gets sleazier by the day.
