Im not sure who makes the JR kevlar clutch, but it does not slip, matter fact it bites pretty hard suppose to be able to hold 300hp,pedal pressure is stocklike and engagement is smooth.I also have the lighten flywheel. The combo makes for quick accelleration. The clutch is on sale at Moss until feb 27th.

a heavier/stronger pressure plate is a must with any upgraded clutch setup, especially when youre talking Forced induction ...
ask act or whoever youre gonna go with how much HP their PP will hold ..
what you can play around with is the disc .. you can get full faced w/a more agressive material for near OEM feel, quicker shifting and better heat handling ... or go w/ a puck style for more aggressive draggers ... theres tons of possibilities... call ACT .. im sure they can help you out ... stay away from their unsprung 6pucks though .. they're tranny eaters .. trust me

My combination recommend by Dynamic Autosports is:
Xtreme Pressure Plate with Full-Face street disc.
Requires a bit more pressure, but not enough to annoy me. It grabbed well til my motor went south =(.

I'm running the ACT heavy duty press. plate and 6 puck disk. Great combination! Good hookup without getting a cramp in my leg from the stiff press. plate. I highly reccomend getting urethane motor mount inserts. Especially if you get a 6 puck.

Heh. This one brought all the turbo guys out. http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/smile.gif
Also running a ACT combo here. XTSS. eXtreme PP w/ street/strip disk. Holds 319 flywheel lb-ft.
SSGSRSC. I'd recommend to you the ACT HD00 or HDSS. This is there heavy-duty pres. plate (~40% stiffer than stock). VERY nice pedal feel, etc. And either either the 00 organic disk for 100% smooth as stock engagement or the SS street/strip disk for taking more heat abuse. This one chatters ever so slightly on occasion.

Thanks Alot for the information!!
However, How much did you guys (girls) pay for the PP and disc? I not calling you guys girls. it is that girls are coming on hard in this sport. I got my A$$ wopped by a girl who was modest about her car! That sucks http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/frown.gif

I know some of you are running act clutches, the question is, what clutch are you runnig from them and is it good for the 8 psi.? In south Fl. I hear of alot of people down hear using them.
How much is a good price on the clutch?
Is a new pressure plate a must? If so how much do they run?
I know how these price questions pi$$ people off but please help, Im trying to get ready for the NIRA event at Moroso April 8&9th and I need a clutch.

$300 for a Xtreme pressure plate and 6 puck disk....

SSGSRSC: whaz UP!--f--k the ACT 6-puck shitz...shitz chatters off the line, plenty of probs with the T/O Bearing fucking yo clutch up (see hybrid pg.), burns out quick, and should be used strictly for drag'n...but, damn that shitz grabs like a mutha f--ker! yeah, its grabs cuz its a damn kevalar faced clutch but, shitz like these (excedy, Clutchmasters, etc.) wearout hella faster than the organics. if ya drive on the streets and install the shitz likes me then the ACT junk aint for ya but, if ya strictly drag and gots all the $$$ ta blow and damn time ta keep swap'n the shitz out then...got for it! if i were ya, i'd go for the Centerforce Dual Friction Clutch w/PP and new T/O....tried and true shitz, a near stock pedal feel--not like drop'n a brick down on the clutch pedal everytime ya shift like that ACT P.O.S., and grab like hell for all FI apps. btw: ya can find the Centerforces for around 4 bills at http://www.re-racing.com

geez .. that was one of the hardest to read post i've ever come across man ... speak english please!!! http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/smile.gif
but anyways .. aren't ACT 6 puck discs copper rather than kevlar? I'm pretty sure on that
and its not so much that ACT sucks .. but the ACT 4 and 6 puck setups are NOT streetable ... but if you're looking to hold power for your race only car then go ACT 4 or 6 puck ..
if not then get another disc setup .. their street setups work fine for daily driving... and ACT prices are one of the lowest ones around in the market.
BUT do stay away from their throwout bearings ... get all new OEM honda/acura bearings .. don't cut corners when it comes to your tranny's life
