Yes, there is some writeups on the next movie. StarTrek X...but no working title yet. Berman says they are creating a super villian comparable to Kahn. Well see...there is also speculation that Data will die in this one.
AS for a new series, I havent read anything more recent regarding a new series.

I have heard that there will be at least a year without a Trek series on TV. There has been some feeling that the franchise has gone a bit stale and needs a breather.

Well, I personally think the Trek universe in general has kind of worn out its welcome for me. There's nothing fresh about it at all. Voyager was such a major disappointment for me in the respect as it was supposed to be outside the normal Trek bounds and could therefore be new and reminiscent of TOS. But nooooo, they had to do just the same old things even to the point of finding ways to bring in people from the other Treks. I'd much rather see Trek series. I think this should be the end. Movies okay, but no more TV.

A trek academy show might now be bad. They could explore some fresh territory there. Showing different races teenagers learning to work together type thing. But they would need a good writer and a willingness to do something different.
