A seventh version of Verona's topic: After reading a few posts from my female compadres, I thought we might have a board of our own where we could discuss our interests, our hobbies, our husbands, significant others, etc. You do NOT have to know how to sew to join us. We are a friendly lot who like to talk about everything. Also included would be our unique perspectives and insights into B5 episodes, as well as commentaries on other sci-fi programs and writings. Men may visit
OCCASIONALLY if they are polite.
Since people have told me that they do not want to start a topic for whatever reason but have said that they wouldn't mind seeing this topic here, what the hey.

Well PC, I can sew, sort of, just don't look at the hemlines. It doesn't seem that, here in 2001, we should HAVE to sew. I'm still looking for the doors that say, "SHOOP!" as they open automatically, and clothes that get blown onto you as you climb off of your anti-grav bed. Instead, we're facing energy shortages and persistent winter. Somethin' ain't RIGHT!

Well, I'm not a woman, but I sew kinda.
I reroot Barbie doll heads.
Regarding the post about someone's Uncle and his husband adopting. That's really great to hear that they were awarded with a child.
"Blair" and I have often thought about how great it might be to raise and spoil a disadvantaged child who has no one. Being able to turn a child's life around that has no future to look forward to. And no one to really really love them.

I think "Women's Sci Fi Fan Club and Terrorist Society" is a more fitting topic title...

Remember Wiz, "hell hath no fury like a woman scorned." You had better watch with that stuff!!

Hey...I'm only using the words of a bumper sticker on the back of a Saturn station wagon where I used to work. I had to smile at it each time I saw it, 'cause it reminded me of the topic name. Now, every time I see that topic name, I just substitute.
Besides, it's better than using the word "collective", don'tcha think?

"Humour...is such a subjective thing, don't you think, Mollari?"--Cartagia to Londo, The Long Night.
hehe That was the first thing that came to mind from reading you guys posts .. http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

I say we move the Sewing Circle here. It is set up. There are several friendly faces already here and this is where Lyta will be keeping us up to date on JMS and his on-line information, which is the other old vine topic that I am most likely to read.
Note to any men joining us for the first time - jump on in. As long as you can stand the girl gab format, you are more than welcome.
It was my uncle and his husband who just adopted their former foster son. Paperwork is still in process for the little one (actually the little one is a chubster and Joey is rather slender, but that isn't the point). From what I hear, Joey is very pleased with the whole thing, including his new name. Uncle and uncle-in-law hyphenated their last names and changed Joey's to match theirs. Very smart considering that not everyone in the world will understand two men travelling with their son, especially since her really doesn't look like either one of them. Having the same name all around should help convince the sceptical, or at least facilitate them demonstrating that they are the legal parents.
So, let's get the conversation rolling.

P.S. I am reading the first book of the B5 technomage trilogy. It is amazing. Get it. Read it. Enjoy it.
P.P.S. After a two week hiatus that was simply agonizing, I finally get to go to karate again this week. Yippee!!!
