For all of those who have been trying to reach me in the last 48 hours...
Motorvations Motorsports is a tragic victim of the recent horrific weather phenomenon passing through the southeast. Nearly 11 inches of rain fell in less than four hours, which ended up being far more water than the nearest dam could handle. The levy broke, and the onslaught of water blanketed over forty businesses in my district... including mine. When the water crested, FORTY-FIVE inches was inside my building !!! Matt and I frantically attempted to pile everything perishable as high as we could... but it was no use. Nearly all is lost.
The Black H/B and the Nighthawk are dead... the Blackbird and Aurora engines are full of water... the H22A coupe ran roughly yesterday, but failed to crank today. The Del Sol, the Z28 and the race car are destroyed. Nothing below the waterline survived... the devastation is utterly sickening.
The GOOD NEWS, if there is any, is I refuse to give up. I am dedicated to this sport and I will find a way to pick up the pieces and carry on. The out-pouring of help and kindness from many locals, as well as a few from far away, has galvanized my resolve... and although I have literally lost everything, I am still alive... and I WILL carry on.
The phones are still down in the area, so for those of you who may be waiting on parts, or the fill of orders, please try to contact me after Wednesday of next week. The phone company tells me we will have service by then. Keep in mind that since I have lost all computers and notes, invoices, etc., I have no way of reaching out to any of you. Thank you all for your patience, understanding and cooperation during this trying time.
I will be in touch.
Jim

Jim, I am so sorry. I can't begin to express the sorrow that I feel. I am confident that you will succesfully recover from this tragedy. If you need something, please let me know.

Cars can be replaced. Glad to hear that you are okay though, Jim.

This is shocking news Jim. I'm so sorry. BUT you have an inspiring positive attitude and it will carry you through. If you have good insurance cover then you can make what you had better. Your customers will support you......you just have to ask.

glad you and family/friends are OK!!

Look at it this way, insurance settlements should enable you to make faster cars

hi jim. i am very glad to hear that you and your loved ones are alive and well. stuff can be replaced, and i am sure you will pull through this. if there's anything i can do from way up here in chicago, let me know. it's strange, youhear about bad things happening to other people, but then you realize that those people are just like you. sorry for your loss, but keep your head up and you'll be back in business before you know it

Jim this sucks!! I hope to GOD you had good buisness insurance. If you do it will be a small setback and you will come back even stronger. I know you are in a new building, but now I guess you can say it will be a really new shop when everything is back in its rightful place. Good luck. I also think that those engines are not a total loss. they will just have to come apart and be cleaned and some minor parts replaced.
