But I wonder why does Finland have military service. It's pointless (and sexist too). Why not having a 100% professional army instead? That way you only get truly motivated people, better suited for the job, and really willing to risk their lives if necessary; and you don't screw people's lives like that (I bet so many of them have to delay their studies, the purchase of their homes, their personal projects, or what's even worse, lose their girlfriends). I'm glad the Spanish right wing got rid of it for these reasons years ago, as soon as it got in power.
