To me, a kit of this size becomes borderline on the absurd...but I "aints" going to tell TB that... [img]wink.gif[/img]
Vin & Dave could tear it up on a basic kit if they have to...in fact, VC basically does [5-6 pc kit, 5-6 cym, hats]...I'm sure TB could also...but he loves his differing sounds & textures...he loves his toys!
[Can you say], "I think cartage on this one is gonna be a muther"...better pull out the ole' wallet/cred card...
& this has taught me a lesson...never try to get a job as TB's tech...

Only one tech. His tech has a masters degree in music (and probably needs it to tune all those drums properly!). Usually, though, people help the tech set up at the clinics and whatnot. I saw TB when he just started using this new expanded set that he has been on for less than a year. He said he wasn't too comfortable with it yet and apologized. None were needed, though; he tore it up.
I would think a degree in mech eng would be more appropriate than a MA in music considering the complexity of that beast.
Those shots were taken by Narcyz (a former student of mine-and good speed metal player) at our Drum Pad clinic earlier this month. The drums were set-up by his tech, Victor Salazar our store's manager (& the drummer from Big Electric-who opened for PX a month ago) and Terry helped too. The entire kit was struck by the tech and Vic, in about 1/2 - 3/4 hour, because they had an open mike night starting after our clinic.
You'll all be very surprised to learn that Terry's are the easiest clinics we've ever put on. I'm not kidding!
