I've been really enjoying a lot of 90's pop lately. Just listened to that song 'Good' by Better Than Ezra and thought it was pretty good. Gin Blossoms, Eve 6, and others.....wtf? I used to hate this shit and now I'm thinking that song by Belly is actually not that bad? Am I just this far behind the curve or is it due to the fact that no matter how bad it was, it's still better than the White Stripes and, shudder to think, but in 10 years, will I be pining for the White Stripes? I think I need a drink. [img]wink.gif[/img]

Well I can't vouch for all of the 90's Rock bands but The Orphan Punks wore out several copies of New Miserable Experience by the Gin Blossoms and Superstar Carwash by the Goo Goo Dolls while we were on tour in the mid to late 90's.Also Running through the wet grass by Better than Ezra is one of my favorite songs...I never liked "Good" though.

Hey, I loved that Superstar Carwash (still do, actually). Is the Gin Blossoms on a par with it? btw, the B than E song is titled Desperately Wanting (not meaning to split hairs). Just listened to that one, too. I guess it's just good pop music, eh?

Yeah desperately wanting...my bad.I think the Gin Blossoms album is great if you are into lyrics.It is one of the few albums I think I could've written almost every song...in the sense that every song took me to a time/event in my life.It was actually creepy the first couple times I heard it,it was like someone had read my memories and wrote them down.Names,Places,the whole nine.I later met them several times touring with Jimmy's new band but I never accused them of stealing my thoughts.lol
Oh and thier second album sucks,in case you wondered.

I took a look at allmusic.com and it said that their guitarist, Doug Hopkins, left the band after the first cd. I guess he was their main song writer. That might have something to do with the diminished quality. It appears that he died not long after. I'll have to check that cd out now. Always did have a liking of Hey Jealousy.
