I'll start I have made a couple of horror films (shorts) A TV commercial, and Nostalgic stock shots with the Super 8 look.
My favorite is an action short with political overtones.... About a made bomber, who dreams of blowing up buildings, who wakes up to find he's being released from the mental hospital because of governmental fund reductions."

I've made 2 so far. One was a documentary on my high school walkout during some teacher strike. It was black and white, silent, and I just dubbed over some music "brick in the wall" - pink floyd.
My first super 8 project was about some crazy guy running away from something. It's all weird. With super 8, I just experiment and be artsy.

Shot in April, transferred to VHS via Moviestuff's DV-8 transfer device in May, and uploaded to my website in June. It's more of an excuse to test out some new photofloods and a 750-watt Lowel Tota than anything else.
I'm currently working on a short film (about 10 minutes in length) on local high school marching band competitions. I'm shooting silent with K40 and Ektachrome 7240. I haven't shot anything yet but I'm doing some preparatory work. See the thread "K40 and Stadium Lighting" if you're interested in more information.
I'm also working on a treatment for a short film that's about an hour in length, bigger than anything I've tried to do so far with S8. After reviewing all the online debates about synch-sound here and on the Shooting 8mm forum, I've decided to try filming it silently at 18 fps and with dialogue presented on black titlecards.
I probably won't start filming the treatment until the spring...that is, if I can find anyone interested in acting in it. That's the problem with the area in which I live--not many people interested in dramatics.

I'm doing a project titled Me. It's not going to be exclusively super8. It's going to be a mix of super8, reg8, 16mm, vhs, hi8 and minidv. It's going to be about me. I'm going to be not only the producer/director and entire crew but the only one out in front of the camera, or at least the dominant one. This is going to be one movie that is not a collaborative effort.
This idea came about because my wife is always saying "You're alwas pointing your cameras at the rest of us but we have virtually nothing of you." So I'm going to do my autobiography on film/video. I'm going to ask my mother for any pictures she has of me as a baby/child/teenager/young adult. I'm going to go through my own stuff and try to find any stills, film or video then try to shoot more stuff of me now.
This is not going to be great cinema. The target audience is my family and kids and hopefully generations yet unborn. If I get it done I'll do another called She about my wife and maybe one called Them about my kids.

My first Super 8 film was a B & W short about a mad bomber who dreams of blowing up city hall, wakes to find that's hes a free man because California Governor Ronald Reagan has cut spending on mental health.

I am working on my first theatrical short since leaving California, I'm now in Michigan I hope I don't have this problem.
Also I'm new to the area, middle age and needing teenage boys about three of them for my Horror flick!!!! I hope my teenage daughter can help me find some kids.
I'm also thinking of having her try to get permision to shoot on a strangers property, if they see me coming, they may want the big bucks.

I know what you mean, I've worked in radio, all my life along with photography in one fashion or another. And have very few pictures of me working at the big stations.

Well, all the old timers on this board know about my Super 8 feature, Lost Tribes (you can see a little info on my soon-to-be-up-&-running website, www.blackforest.com, or of course, get it on ebay, as usual.)
Right now, I'm about 25% done shooting my trailer of excerps from my latest script, BLACK FOREST.
I'm shooting most of it on 16mm, but some of it on Super 8 as well.
It's going pretty well, although I've made a few blunders!
I'll keep everyone posted after I finish.
I've been really busy working on it for the last few months.

Well, let me elaborate on the story about the crazy kid. I got a super 8 camera. And I was tired of video. So I thought.. what i can I shoot with super 8 with 2 roles of Ektacrhome with silent flm.
My friend was over. And I just filmed so action sequences with him running. I ended up editing it to make it seem like he was running away from somtiong, like he was paranoid. I eneded up winning 2nd place in my school film festival., So that was neat. The movie's called inner asylum.
Maybe I'll post it up when i hagved time.

i was tjust wondering, what type of film did you shoot that with> and what time of day> or night?

I shot all that on Ektachrome 7240. Most of it (the really well-lit footage of me walking downstairs and through the house) was shot around ten or eleven o'clock at night. All the houselights were off; the only illumination came from my photofloods and my Lowel Tota. I was attempting to bring the light up enough to shoot but still make it look as if the power had failed. The shots of the lights going out were shot on another night without the use of additional photoflood; that's why they're so dark compared to the other shots.

I just shot some K-40 for a feature I'm working on which was mainly shot on 16mm with little 35mm for some very low light night exteriors. The Super-8 footage was used for flashbacks.
Earlier this year I shot a commercial on Super-8 negative(T-100). Some shots looked great, but a couple were mighty grainy. The commercial was for a rap music producer so it a retro look.
