Is it the server is a lot slower or is it just me? I don't think it's me though since i'm on a T1 backbone (1.5Mps)...

I'm on a T3 and it seems slower too...
Seems pretty fast from where I'm sitting. I'm on a T3.
Cable modem here. Sometimes it's fast. Sometimes it gets so slow the bit rate goes down to < 1 byte per second.
All in all it seems slower than before. I assume things will get better.

Cable connection here and it seems slower. I believe Steven said the cache needs to be built up among other tweaks that need to be done.

Part of the problem is since HostBoard has come back online system loading has doubled based on what I see in usage (83 concurrent users at one point today with an average of 70+ during the afternoon) am thinking this is temporary but if it continues I will also be increasing the bandwidth to the system as I ahve already made preparations for that in the layout. Alot of the probelm is I built a much larger server but never knew the old servers configuration as the old administration refused to let me have access to it so I based it around their configuration which loosly was twin pentium 550s, 1/2gig ram and an 18gig hd. Current server is twin 1ghz, 1/2gig ram (going to 1gig soon) and twin 75gig drives RAID1. So, HostBoard transfered and I played a guessing game. First day was horrible. Second to third there was about a 300% performance increase. Now it is just trying to finish understanding the softwares interaction with the OS. If anyone knows Linux extremely well I will be more then happy to listen on your thoughts on tweaks and stuff.
I am working also with some new compression techniques. Make sure your browser is set to use HTTP 1.1 as compression is only recognognized at that level or higher.
Other then that feed back is appreciated as a day does not go by that I am not working on this thing trying to make it better.

Compression eh? Maybe that's why my Opera browser crashes all the time on HB now?
This is the only site on the WWW that I would change browsers for! If I have to give up Opera, I will.
Keep up the good work.
Greg
Is Opera HTTP 1.1 compatable? I will have to go down load a version and try it out. Give me a day or 2 to take a look. The compression I am using right now is called mod_gzip and can readily be found via search engine in case you ar courious http://www.pwrhouse.com/ubb/smile.gif

I have the upmost faith in Steven... things may be slower right now, and there may be a bug here and there... but I know that he is working hard to minimize, if not eliminate, these issues.
Keep up the good work Steven... and thanks again for keeping us all together on this wonderful forum.
