It's hard to believe but I've been on this board for 3 years now. Sad, that most of the people who were on this board when I first joined are no longer around....
1FSTGSR, Lundgren, SSBP, Vtecnogeek, MTRS the 1st, & sjoback just to name a few of the early members that are no longer around. Most moved on to a different platform or are no longer in the sport. I guess I'm of the few who no longer has a Honda but remains active on this board.
It is interesting to see the cars evolve over time, especially Tim's(BOOSTEDEX) Civic. Keep up the nice work.
As for me, I still have my Eclipse. I'm replacing the turbo the week after next and if my clutch holds it should be fairly quick. It should be pushing ~300whp.
Well that's all for now. Hopefully, this board will continue to grow and return to the glory it once had before we had all the problems with the server. TTYL.

yeah, time is going fast, I am already here for more than 2 years (I think). Not so much posting nowadays, but still around

Marc: hehehe
Yeah, my car has evolved from a slow grocery getter to a 12 second monster (hopefully) hehe...

Hey, some of us "Old Guys" are still around...
But you are right, it would be nice to hear from some of the guys you mentioned above. I believe both Will and Sim still have their Integra's... Lundgren has graduated to a C5.
-
yeah its been a long time now. Remember that Code64-10 (something like that) guy? Who would talk all FaSt & FuRiOuS? lol those were the good old days. Its amazing how things have changed now. I got the JRSC in Oct of '99, but didn't start posting/talking here rather then just reading till April of '00 when I needed help.
Rememeber my good old post asking for help with all these problems, then to dyno and hit 155whp with the JRSC on my R!!!! Boy have the tables have turned.
-
That was Code10-54...
He was quite humorous. I found his "street posts" quite interesting... especially since he NEVER mis-spelled a word yet talked like he had a fifth grade education !!!
heheheh
Rboosted, you fall in the category of one of the "Old guys" too. Thanks for being a long-time productive member of this board.
I believe extra special PROPS should go out to Greg Holden for his upstanding effort to inform those that need assistance... he has been more than an asset for this forum. His own website is also very helpful and his dedication to those in need here has been unwavering for nearly three years now.
THANK YOU GREG !!!

Yes, Greg (Holden) has done a fantastic job with helping out the newbies and continuing to offer advice on installation and tuning. I first met Greg back in 1997 on the old Ken Wood's HP e-mail list. There were no UBB boards around back then...at least not for Hondas. The only message boards were on the CRX page and HYBRID page which offered the very refined FIF Engineering software but at the time there were no archives so posts were up and gone within a week.
I remember when Greg first bought his GS-R and was checking the performance gains with the intake and GReddy exhaust with the G-Tech meter. Even in the beginning, Greg was doing his part to spread the knowledge. Jim (JRCIVIC) has also done a fantastic job. He continues to help ANYONE who needs help and is truely an asset to this board. He's always willing to offer his advice and take time out of his day to help anyone who needs it. Thank you, Jim!
I don't know about Will but last I heard Sim had decided to keep his GS-R after it was recovered. He was considering an Eclipse GS-T spyder but decided it was best to keep his car.
A few people have moved on to different platforms.
Lundgren: C5 (Z06 package I believe)
Silvino/BurntGSR: Supra Single Turbo
Sjoback: Turned his car back to stock and thrilled to be pumping cheap 87 octane again.
SSBP: Moved on to a C4 and eventually an NSX.
Mr Rogers: Sold his GS-R but I don't recall what replaced it.
Yours truly: Eclipse GSX replaced the civic after it was stolen.
Vtecnogeek(Creator of this forum): Sold his GS-R for a 3000GT. I believe he since sold that after the arrival of his newborn child.
I believe randomwalk and Max Psi GSR also had their cars stolen and replaced them with different platforms.
It is refreshing to see Rboosted, JRCIVIC, Holden and a few other old timers have managed to hang on to their cars. Keep up the great work. Since there are already quite a few 12 second cars on this list, perhaps what we need is a new project car that will run 11's and faster? Maybe, that will help revive this board?
-
thanks Marc and everyone.
Yeah I will promise this. Before this year is up I will be running 11's (I'm talking solid 11's, not just a 11.999) without the use of nitrous. My setup has a lot of untapped potentional (car weight, engine, tires, etc...).
I've been working a lot lately on other projects outside of my car, however I this year has also been a very productive year for my car. Everyone will soon see or hear about whats going on soon.
Oh yeah forgot to add. Yeah its crazy to see how many of the old timers have left due to theft. I know I too have come close already, however I have battled the thefts to a nasty hult. But yeah I now drive my car a lot less, however I too race a lot more now.

And what retrospective of this board would be complete without mentioning The Old One aka Endyn aka Larry Widmer et al ?
That BBS has been down since, uh, last November ? Last I checked they updated their components pages with pistons for some Mitsu applications, not much else.
What the hell happened to *all* those people ? There were a few cross posters to both boards, but its like a UFO came and vacummned them all up.
I can think of no single greater source of both good information (and controversy...)

Thanks for the props. Ken Woods! Ha! Back in the dayz...
I don't post as much anymore, but I still check in. My car is pretty much sorted out where I want it, so I don't run into a lot of issues.
My car is still running strong. Mostly all I drive it is at events and getting to and from events. Case in point: I haven't started it for three weeks now! Yikes.
Props out to everyone who's ever answered a question here!
And lest we forget, Rafe Jaffey was a critical information source in the early years of our JRSC hobby. Wonder where he is now?
