are you de-bugging or just like to look at pretty colored text?
Right now - verifying.
I had to create that function to get around the developer's lazyassness. Now I just need to prive it out and I can check it in and be out of here today.
Only took me 4 fraggin days to figure out how to interact reliably with that damn page they present to the user!
Good thing in these cases I just charge my time to them!
Oh - the colors, it always looks like that!
I'm sorry...... but WHAT THE $&@*# IS THAT????

In a larger nutshell - I write programs to test the application my company creates. This increases what we can test in a given scheduled time frame by removing the human factor from the effort. In turn with the increase in efficiency, we get increased accuracy, increased reporting, increased documentation, and reduced cost.
I have the same reaction anytime I try to read a legal document when I am doing research into the legal ramifications of increased risk due to lack of software testing (specifically automated software testing) prior to the introduction of a educational intense application into a hightly volitilie market of Mortgage Loan applications.

close, but not quite Tr3s.
I don't do the testing. I just give the testers the abilty to port their manual testing over to automated scripts.
My "official" title is: "Sr. Automated Testing Specialist (WinRunner)".
All the people that are outside my door do the QC, I just create the tools for them.
I used to do QA (Quality Assurance) making sure all the policies and procedures were in place for the company I worked for at the time to ensure we were developing a quality product.
I haven't done QC in who knows how long! i miss those easy days!
