I hate them!
Usually I do everything in my power to try to avoid them, but sometimes there just isnt any other option.
Why can't guys aim? I think I could hit a dime at 10 paces.
Theres just no excuse for it!
And is it so hard to flush?
Jeez! I use my foot most the time but at least I get it done!
-
why be gender specific???
i ask this about chicks everytime i am
forced to use a public restroom as well...
literally ALL of those things.
-
i'll be honest. i dont make it into the ladies room very often (just to swap tapes in my video camera) so I am not very sure what the conditions are like.
Care to give a general idea?
One warning sign is when you open the door and you feel the sticky floor. Makes me cringe.
-
ok... i dunno about all women... but for me...
well...
from what i've noticed, the floors are relatively
clean in most respects however,
here's what i hate--
its like a horror movie.
ya go in, and there before you are (let's say)
3 stalls.
ALL of them have the doors closed.
(unless, of course they have a broken lock, in
which case the door will not only fail to stay
locked, but will also flap open. this is ONLY
the case on broken lock doors)
this is the moment of truth. one MUST open the
door... but at the same time, one isn't quite
sure what lies on the other side. you tummy
clentches at this moment because ya gotta be
prepared for the worst.
from the door to the restroom to the door of the
stall, i've pretty much imagined everything
possible that COULD be awaiting on the other side
of that closed stall door.
omg... i just can't continue from this point.
but let's say that we can all assume the worst.
most of the time, i'm actually SURPRISED if i
see a clean bathroom...
so lets assume that all of the stalls are ganked.
i will not go. its that simple.
if one is clean, i'll go... and the whole time
i'm thinking about what i had just experienced
in the other remaining stalls...and how fast
i want to leave.
then i think about what kind/type of female
not necessarily LEFT that mess... but WALKED AWAY
from that mess without having the fucking
decency to flush.
GAWD!!! THAT PISSES ME OFF!!!
when i'm finishing up, i get all hot and bothered
over the sink situation next. i mean, if a girl
were to do THAT in a stall... she certainly
has no qualms about the sink.
then i shrug it off because -- why would she
think to wash her hands???
basically, i have a problem/complex about microbes.
i'll admit it.
i never TOUCH anything in a public restroom
with my bare hands. this happens occasionally
at people's houses too, it just depends on the person.
ummm... i even go as far as using a paper towel
to open, close, re-open the door to the stall,
a paper towel to turn the sink on...
and a towel to open the restroom door. sometimes
i'll use my shirt or jacket for this too.
it just depends.
ok.. i think thats enough.

I knew you hated public restrooms as well, but I'd say you probably top me.
I think that we get the better deal in that we can stand a great percentage of the time.
As far as hand contact, I try to resist that as well. If I must touch something its definately with the back of my hand.
Im serious about the foot thing though. Flushing, opening and closing doors, operating the sink, getting the soap out and sticking quarters in the condom machine can ALL be accomplished using your sneakers. It does take some practice, however.

I dislike public restrooms, I think everyone does. I think I should carry an extra pair of gloves with me when I am working so that I may keep myself clean. Hmm... not a bad idea.

PUBLIC BATHROOMS ARE THE BEST DUDES!!!!!!!!!!!!
i mean who wouldn't be charmed by the stench of urine (sometimes faeces but mostly urine), the piss on the toilet seats, the balls of toilet paper floating in the bowls (unflushed of course), the bits of toilet paper stuck on the ceiling (a juvenile pasttime i admit to have partaken in my younger and more impressionable years). actually, i'm very anal about the toilet bowl. i won't sit on the toilet seat, i wash my hands with soap twice if i feel the bathroom's too dirty to do otherwise and generally refrain from using public lavs unless absolute necessity commands me. with that said, i only use the public bathrooms of corporate buildings, restaurants, places where there are people constantly cleaning them, so it's not too bad. i try my absolute hardest to avoid university ones (because they are absolutely DISgusting).
but if you want to see disgustingpublicbathrooms, you'll have to go to asia. DON'T GET ME STARTED ON THOSE ONES!

but that is the only griff i have with asia.
-
at least there was a half decent toliet where i stayed
but no flushing or paper, had to flush it with a bucket

... which is precisely why many americans
enjoy their vacations 'abroad' while going to epcot
