Your Radio Playlist

Okay, lets hear it. I see the rant on the White Stripes, but I want to hear who you like on the radio. Now, you can name Social D, or the Sex Pistols because they get played a couple times a week... but I want to hear the real crap you like. The bands that will get 3+ spots a day on any given mainstream station.

I got KROQ, and I don't have a cd player, and my tape deck is broke.... so I know how important the radio can be in these times. I enjoy hearing...

AFI (most of the time)
Queens of the Stone Age


Now there are others I get every now and then, but those bands are multiple spins a day bands I like. I get Rancid and Sublime, and Flamming Lips type stuff which is nice too.

I do flip over to 95.5 and 93.1 a lot to cross my fingers and get a Led Zeppelin or GNR song. Maybe some old Rolling Stones or something too.

Okay I got a guess in my head on how many times I'll get a reply of some form of "I don't listen to the radio...but if I were too..." SHUT UP!

I rarely if at all listen to the radio. KROQ's Kevin & Bean morning show before work....and Indie 103.1 They play cool shit (old and new) from Horror Pops to Jeff Buckley. I dig Jones' Jukebox at noon, which happens to be in the middle of my lunch. Stevie plays great shit. He has themes. One day it was all women singers he's shagged or wanted to shag. Recently he played a whole shitload of Pretenders. Plus he rambles on about his daily crap like the COE (Church of England) and finding his bio father. CRRAAAAZEEE he is.

Sometimes I listen to country and oldies stations...just to see what's on. I really don't know what's new out there that I would be interested in. I did however catch the White Stripes doin that weeklong stint on Conan O'Brien last year. Loved their version of Dolly's "Jolene". New "playlist friendly" music I like would consist of Norah Jones and Tift Merritt. Possibly Audioslave just cause Chris' voice is mesmerizing and Tom's guitar skills fascinate me.

I stick to CD's for the most part. Right now in the player is a jumbled mix of my favorite Stones.....live Nekro, plus Supersuckers and some Mad Sin. I was listening to Sugarcubes (1st record Life's Too Good) this morning on the way home from work. I gotta whip out Flogging Molly's "Swagger" this week. WHEEEE!!!!

We played with those guys last year here in Denver.
Crazy show. I passed out back stage in the middle of their set only to be woken up by a big fat sweaty G erman psyhcobilly lead singer pooring PBR on my head to wake me up saying in a very loud German accent " Wake up my friend ! time to party ! You do like to party as I can see, Your not done yet ! We have just started ! ". And he handed me a bottle of Jack. How could I refuse ?

Absolutley horrific. He was walking around back stage in his skivies all sweaty and humongus !
