Walbro pump

My Walbro pump, it's kind of noisy and it whines. Seems to do it now that's it's bee hot. It fades in and out too.... should I be worried?

Do you notice any drops in fuel pressure or severe variations in idle pressure ???

Nothing serious no. When it's hot, it's down about 5 psi, but it doesn't drop off or flucuate much at all.

Jim, BTW, my max psi is 75 psi with the cartech riser (310 injectors).

Maybe a different pump is needed?

Are you using the GSS-317 or GSS-342 pump ???

The 317 one. THat is the 255 lo one right?

No, the 317 is the low output...the 314 is output is the 255lph one.

Bzzzzt! The 342 is the HO model. 317 is low pressure.

I do notice my GSS342 idle pressure drops approx. 4-6 psi and back to normal sometimes. It that an indication of a fuel pump going bad? It doesn't seem to have any problems at high pressure during boost. I originally thought it was caused by a sticky piston inside the Cartech. The problem went away for awhile after I polished the piston, but it just came back a few days ago...
