Well, I hardly ever street race. But any ways, the results look like this:
FRIDAY:(no nos....bottle empty)
Race #1: SOHC vs 92 Mustang 5.0
* from a roll(me 2nd gear-35mph)up to 85mph *
VERDICT: Lost by 3/4 car length.....my front tires at his rear quarter panel http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/frown.gif
SATURDAY:(before I filled bottle)
Race #2: SOHC vs 2000 S4(chipped ecu/exh/K&N)
* heads up off the line(stop light) *
NOTE: I know this guy. He said, he just wanted to see what his ride could do after upgrade. Said, he lost to a SS earlier in the day.
VERDICT: Really got hammered.....just couldn't really make up the difference. Off the bottle I run 14.9's and Tim's S4 has to run a full sec. faster. It wasn't pretty he easily put 1-2 cars on me http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/mad.gif
Sunday: Filled the bottle on Saturday
Race #3: SOHC vs A3 VR6(I/E only..we talked)
Verdict: It wasn't as close as he had thought. We went from a roll and from a stop. Nos felt great.......he lost pretty bad especially from a roll. He said he was running mid 15's his last visit to the track.
LAST NIGHT: Race #4: SOHC vs 1999 SC SI(asshole kid)

We raced 3 times, outcome was the same all 3 times. 3 wins for the lil' SOHC. He spun really bad the 1st time.......beat him by a good 2 cars. 2nd time he did better still lost by a car. But seem to be gaining fast at 85mph. True 1/4 it might have been close.
3rd was from a 15mph roll. He was neck and neck with me thru 2nd(my 2nd). I hit 3rd perfect, kept pulling strong up til 90. I hit the brake and look over a he is not there. He is a 3/4 back in my blind spot. I slow to 35 or so to talk to him. You know to find out what happen........missed shift or something. He just blows by me.....didn't even look over. Boy, I guess that NOS makes a huge difference with its cooling effect, doesn't it!?! How long does a 10lb. bottle last with a 25 shot? (# of 1/4 mle passes). Like you said, not bad for a good ol' SOHC. Tom

Any way, I'm not really sure. I normally go thru a bottle a month($40 bucks) with normal use. I hardly ever street race......just when a V-8 wants to play. When I get low, I just take it out until, I feel like filling it up again.
Dude, get a lil' shot. Your motor will love you for it. Just run a 15-20jet...good for 20-30hp(rated by NOS).

Where'd you tap the jet into the intake path, right after the filter to give the NOS time to cool the intake air before reaching the TB? Tom

I mounted the jet exactly 2.5in from the air filter. Routed the intial nylon nos line underneath the intake into the firewall by the battery.

Just bought a soldering gun today. So, I'll be installing the 310's very soon. Especially, since I was running a bit lean on the juice. My B&M gauge arrive this morning(installed riser a while back).....my fuel pressure is 42psi. Damn fuel filter is mounted in an angle.......shit sucks major ass. Well time for some tuning. We have a local event Sept9-10.
heah, have you notice that your car bogs really bad with a/c on? I'm talking to the point that it cuts off if I don't pump the gas peddle a few times. I mean it is really bad.......note: belt isn't squeeling though. Well maybe just on hard acceleration going into 2nd w/ AC on. Let me know.

I Absolutely hate driving my car with the AC on. I would rather drive a Geo Metro! It bogs so bad it's unbelievable! I HATE IT!!! I don't know what you mean in 2nd gear, but mine is just terrible starting out in 1st. What's the fix? Tom

Tom what is your fuel pressure with vacumn on? Check the Helms and it is suppose to be 31-38psi w/vac and 41-47psi.
When I have the AC on and I accelerate hard in 1st. When shifting to 2nd you can hear the belt squeeling(slip'n). It almost sounds like a chirp.
Fix.....I haven't a clue. I've been told that it was normal to bog, but this shit is ridiculous.
