The IRS has begun sending out $14 billion to parents, just in time for back-to-school sales. But many say they'll pay off bills instead.
Although polls show many consumers say they will pay off bills, economists expect the money will really go to new purchases. The checks -- up to $400 per child -- are arriving about the time stores are cranking up back-to-school sales -- their second most important shopping season. Consumers will be enticed to spend the money on sneakers, jeans, notebooks and computers

Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmm as far as I know yes. I have a kid and yes we filed and he was a depantant. as for getting the tax refund of the $$$ we dont have to do anything as it is for anyone within a tax bracket $25 k something - $hmmmmm If you dont make enough then you prolly wont get it. How ironic huh? Anyhow if I am wrong.... SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH and stop raining on my parade. I dont wanna have to figure out what I am gonna do about my Stator other wise as I just paid house taxes $$$$$$$ pockets running empty [img]confused.gif[/img]

I think that tax refund thing sucks....i don't have a kid...but i sure spend enough time around th em... that ought to count for something? I act like one.... enough....

Maybe if ya sent big ol W a letter about how you are around kids alot and should get a refund he will see it your way. [img]biggrin.gif[/img] Now there is a scarey thought Demon with a lil Demon. They do have lil dinosaur songs... but I wish he would learn more then the I LOVE YOU song. A lil purple dinosaur singing that just SCARES me. [img]eek.gif[/img]

Got a letter from the GOV the other day.. said it was gonna be mailing my check within the next 2 weeks.
Not sure what I find more funny. That they actually took the time to tell me or that they wasted the posted it took in doing so for all those getting a check.
