Well, not really my FIRST track visit. I used to go in my Talon all the time, but my first time in my Civic. I really need to practice!

The guy in the other lane smoked me with his 5.slow which was quite fast. My launch was terrible! Tons of wheelhop despite the ES motormounts. I was gonna go again but some guy blew his tranny and got fluid all the way down the track. By time they cleaned it up it was closing time. Can't wait until next friday!

Damn http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/eek.gif I ran bad my 1st time, but not that bad. Shit, my 1st time I was the designated mechanic(wasn't going to run). I brought toolbox, hydro jack, stereo(subs), spare tire, bookbag(text books,etc). Best that day(mid 70's) was 15.8 after 8 prior low 16 sec runs. Don't worry you will get better.
The shit gets aggravating some times. If I had spent as much money on my hybrid as I have my Sc-setup. I would be deep into the tens by now. Oh well http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/mad.gif
Any hoo..... just keep track of your driving experience during each run. I mean note things like......temp, launch rpm, shifting points, gear you finished in, any problems (bogging, hit rev limiter, excessive wheelspin/hop). We also usually ask tech guy or tree guy when the track was cleaned last.

I think the proper thing to do here is to be supportive... like I was to you last week when you were running 16.20's with short times of 2.50 plus !!!
Sometimes the conditions suck...
Sometimes the car is sick...
Sometimes the driver is out of the groove...
Sometimes it is ALL THREE !!!
Keep racing waveoff... you will get better. Launching a supercharged car is much more difficult than a turbo car. It takes practice. You will get better.

Heh heh, I think sometimes people forget that racing on the track is not quite the same is racing on the street...No one times you on the street, and if the other guy screws up, you win...The timers don't lie and they show the ugly truth...and anyone who races...*ANYONE*...has room to improve...If you don't believe that, you'll never get better. At first glance, those look like bad times, but after getting launch technique down and getting some practice, they will surely fall. Keep going at it wave.

in my del Sol when it was bone stock on street tires. it would pull a 2.3 second 60 foot time.
now even with the N/A GSR motor i pull 2.1-.2 60 foot times easy. on 17s

Thanks for the support RougeSol! BONE STOCK in my Talon I would get nothing worse than 1.9 sec 60' times...on 16's with stock rubber.

Keep your chin up! My best 60 ft time with slicks is a 1.9 The worst thing you can do is be too hard on yourself. The best thing you can do is keep going and try to improve a little bit each time. You'll get it down. One of the things that has helped me is finding someone who races on a regular basis. Asked him for tips and really listened to what he had to say. Good luck!

BTW nice plane fred. my dad is restoring a stinson 108-3 1947 model. i prefer things that stay on the ground personaly.

Hey man, no offense taken. If I had gotten to run more than once I'm pretty confident that I would have been able to improve things a tiny bit.
The stinson is an awesome airplane to fly once you get it down. You should get your license when your dad finishes restoring it. I know if my dad had an airplane I'd be flying it all the time!
