Kinda a useless stat... especially when they launch it on a Wednesday... and just before a long weekend (in Canada).
I remember when weekend hauls used to be based on a Friday to Sunday tally... and ticket prices used be be $5... or even $8... not $12.50 and up.

There are alternate lists that compensate for inflation.... Starwars CRUSHES everything else on those lists.... It made 420mil in 1977 dollars. [img]wink.gif[/img]
Either way, I just shows how dominant a CLASSIC, EVERYMAN hero like Spiderman can be over the crappy rehashed bullshit that seems to dominate so many of the movies out there.

Could be so... the list I'm looking at is only inflation adjusted for movies released since 1970.
You're right... Gone With the Wind was released in 1939... over 65 years, it's made 198 million in the US and 390 mil worldwide.
Adjusted for inflation it's 1187mil verses 1026mil of Star Wars.
Now lets compare those two within the first 30 years since their release....... [img]wink.gif[/img]
Of course, there are more people in the states and more movie theaters than before. Also the world release is faster so are the revenues........
Is there any old movie still been shown at an specific theater ?

honestly.... the uber-testosterone-assasin of Al Simmons wasn't immediately likeable or identifyable.... and then the "living in the alleys whilst a blue face clown mocks you" might have missed a few people....
... and by the time you get to a "green glow and the hero wins?... I think... oh wait... bzzrrrt" ending and alot of people walked out thinking "well that LOOKED pretty cool, but I don't get it."
