i'm interested in learning about which tune you think vinnie grooves the hardest on and which tune shows his best chops. this will give me a sense of what tunes and albums to look out for.

"Joe's Garage" pretty much covers it on both ends.....
"Slink" from Vinnie's solo album.
According to me, Vinnie always combines both.....
Anyway, two songs among many others from "His drumness" ;-)

They both contain hard groovin' and blowing chops and........touch, sensibility, musicality, maturity, taste, feeling, space etc...etc...

There's a Dog Cheese bootleg that showcases Vinnie's chops handily, as does the Warren Cuccurullo session and BIG DRUM.
Nice grooves on Joni Mitchell's WILD THINGS RUN FAST.
If Vinnie took martial arts, he'd be a black belt in chops...if his molars are anything like his technq, then he could slice thru a fat piece of pork in no time flat...OK, I've seen too many rotoroot/blob/hayseuss/grossed beef posts, sorry.... [img]wink.gif[/img]
