Vintage robot haul...attention TCM!

I finally got my brother to cough one of these babies up. My grandparents had two of these "Marvelous Mikes" bulldozer toys stored away at their farm. They were for us to play with when we were kids. One of my brothers snagged them when they moved a few years ago. I'm hoping he'll find the other one. My quest is to restore at least one of them.

It's missing a motor and the treads but the battery compartment is fine. The motor manipulated levers underneath the bulldozer that moved the robot. I can still move them manually and it looks like the robot is operating the bulldozer.

But if you want it for antique value, do not restore it. Original conditions fetches a higer price than restorations.

Drau, I've thought about that. Unfortunately, unless it's mint, it's not worth much. I don't plan on selling it anyway.

Amazing! That is a killer piece man. Aurora Illinois eh? That's just right around the corner. SOMETIMES a restored toy will be worth more than a non-restored toy, it just depends ont he extent of the damage, and the extent of the restoration. IF you can find treads for it, and add a motor without damaging the existing toy in any way, it will retaine it's value, and possibly appreciate the value. It is when you get into repainting, or modifying the original toy, that will ruin the value. At any rate, congrats on your vintage find! Very cool indeed! Take care of that sucker!
