Cluster FUK!!!!

Good morning all. and now a review of the night I had:

Ok, so I posted lastnight about the gig I was to do at the bar lastnight, DJ a lingerie party. Sounds like fun right??
WRONG!

What could go wrong with watching hot chicks prance around in next to nothing?

Well, when I first got there no one knew when it was to start and there were only 5 other people in the bar. Then, Some guy with a kareoke macine showed up. WTF?? no one told me we were doing that! Whats next?? How about only one of the girls showing up and no one knowing where the kareoke is!
Ok, so now I have a black elvis setting up kareoke, one model and a second possable model being recruted with whisky.

The lingerie shows up about 8ish and about that time I am told that a local radio statin will be showing up at 9. The kareoke guy is now waiting for the radio guys before he starts and the second kareoke chick is plasterd but willing to go on!
Did I mention that neither of these girls is attractive. In any way.

So I get the go sign from the fist model and announce her.
Nothing.

I try it again:
Nothing.

I turn up the mic:
NOTHING.

I send one of the guys in the bar around the corner to check on them:
finaly she comes around in this lil black lace and leather getup. I tell the style and size and that it is going for the price of 10 bucks.
This is the point where my boss tells me that it is an auction for the outfits. so NOW I have to be an auction announcer as well as a DJ!
I then call out the second model, the drunk one. she comes out and starts showing her lil outfit. Now i am told by the fist girl that I was to wait till we sold the 1st outfit before calling the 2nd girl out. ARGGGG!
Now i am trying to sell 2 outfits on two ugly chicks to a bar with only 10 sober guys and 2 sober chicks (my wife and her friend)who could all care less.

Now repeat the above statement 2 more times and that was the whole show.

Drunk chick could barly walk and they could not here me announcing them becuse they were being so loud in the changing room.

And yor thinking, well at least you got payed good for it.

Well, they want to do another one.
I will be talking to the boss about this adn making sure that I get payed more, and in advance.

Hey!!! I was the black Elvis running the Karaoke... didn't even realize it was you!!!! [img]wink.gif[/img]

Honestly, that doesn't sound that far removed from some of the Karaoke gigs I've ran.

Sidenote: I had a guy in a band giving me a hard time about running Karaoke. I looked him in the eye and said "I'm a musician too. This is something I can do on a moments notice, and pocket $100 using my PA which would otherwise be sitting in a corner doing nothing. How many practices do you have to go to just to play one gig a month and split the profits?..." Poor guy just cried in his beer.

Yeah, I've had the nights where the Bartender says "Things are slow... here's $30 and you don't have to run until 2 if you don't want."

Someone says.... "Hey, at least there's four bucks in the tip jar!" I say, "Yeah, but I usually start out the night by putting 5 ones in there so people know it's a tip jar." [img]frown.gif[/img]

except I usually ended up going home with the drunk broad.
this was before I was married, of course.

I should probably add that I was usually just as hammered.
