I used to be pretty good. I stopped playing when I joined the Marine Corps. This is a custom made horn that took 4 months to make. I just got it a week ago. I'm getting back into playing. I'm rusty, but it's like a bicycle, easy to come back. I'm already hitting a high C pretty easily.

I'll be playing taps for the Veteran funerals in this area soon. Kind of doing my part to honor those men & women.

Pearl finger buttons and Amado water keys put on just for me. Silver plating instead of the regular brass/gold finish for a brighter sound. My most expensive purchase of the year $1,300.00. Made by Kanstul. Even a custom gig bag. Just waiting on my Spyder stand.

I played everything from Classical, Big Band, Swing to Jazz. In the 70's I played stuff from Chicago, KC and the Sunshine Band, and Average White Band. (Hey, it was the 70's!)

Now, I'm just getting back into so just about anything goes.

My wife plays the piano. We plan to play together for family.

I used to play the trumpet when I was in high school. Did the whole marching band, parade, Winter Concert thing until my 10th year when we moved overseas. Gave it up them. haven't touched it since unfortunately.

I still have it down at my parents. I need to bring it up and see if I can donate it to one of the local schools.

I had thought about picking it up again, but unlike you, it would be just me in the back room and no accompaniment. So I would rather make sure someone got a chance to play it in the school system to see if it makes their life better.

It has pretty much dropped off the rader of things that I would even consider now. I was decent enough at it. Reasched First Chair of the high school band when I was in 8th grade and all that, but just completely lost interest in it.

I have zero idea what non-guitar-type instruments cost...and even on those, I'm clueless sometimes.
