Weckl special night

Well...when I went to see Dave at Catalina on Friday night I had a big surprise. I got to meet two of the nicest guys in LA who is responsible for making this website so special and important. Steve Holmes and Jon thibault. It was a pleasure for me to meet you guys. Both of you are really nice and very very funny. I had a great time watching Dave w/ you guys. Although I thought Dave "wasn't on his best shape on that day" but it is always inspiring to watch him play. That night was also a special night for me because for some reason after watching weckl for so many times, I got the feeling just to ask him if he could give me his pairs of sticks after the show was over...and I got them! It is something that I will keep for myself for the rest of my life. Its so cool...I felt like a 11 years old kid who never got a chance to see his idol.

So, after meeting Steve and Jon, got Dave weckl sticks, guess now who I got a pleasure to meet? Dave weckl's mom. The one which we all should thank for. She was just a old sweet lady who just moved to LA from St. Louis. She told me some really nice stories about Dave which I will share w/ you guys some other time.

Anyways, I just thought it would be interesting to share some of those great moments that I had w/ you guys since I don't post too many things here at the forum.

Steve and Jon...you guys are awesome!!!
Hope to see you guys again soon and...I'm really anxious to know some of the guys from here(HOD) who lives in LA.
Hope to meet you guys some day. Steve told me that you guys are great people.

Thanks, bro. That was a fun night. Dave's phrasing just kills me. Too bad Stevie Wonder wasn't at OUR show!

Weckl exceeded my expectations that night, I was really blown away. It was nice not being familiar with the material (for a change)..hearing the Elektric band play new stuff was cool.

I could have done without the Scientologists going from person to person in line and selling the CD for $21.50. Those sheep need serious rescuing.

Inside info because I know Dave........

Dave's mom is in town because Dave's dad is sick. Dave had his parents come to live in L.A. so Dave can manage the doctors that are caring for his ailing fathers health.

If any of you on the website are religious, maybe give a "shout out" and a prayer for Dave's father. I was really sad to hear that from Dave. Saw a definete look of sorrow on his face when he told me, looked like tears wanted to come out. So if his playing is a little off, it might be because of the great ordeal he's going thru trying to save his dads life. Shakey ground to say the least.

THanks for the info John. I noticed that Dave had a really sad look when he was playing on that night. From some point I also had the feeling that Dave wasn't concentrating on the music very hard. He seemed to be worry on something, you know! He played awesome as usual, of course, but since I knew the Elektric Band new materials...he played very hmmm...I don't know!!! He just seemed really tired also!!! I will be praying for him!!
