Cheney kicked Edwards Ass last night.

At least in my mind.

I like Cheneys straight forward aproach.Edwards...hes a typical politician/actor.

Thats why I hate politics,in order to win you have to win over the stupid third.You have the third that goes republican and the third that goes democrat and then we have the stupid third that pays no attention,has no convictions and wants to know who everyone else is voting for first before they cast there vote.I like to think that these people wet there finger,hold it up,and see which way the political winds are blowing.

Its frustrating for me because I know that acting wins over the stupid third.Acting like you care wins over the stupid third.Scaring people wins over the stupid third.Telling the stupid third you have a program for them(read freebee) wins them over.

I used to think that you could win an election by standing by your princiles and stating what you believe.Its not,its all about courting people who have no convictions and are only looking out for there own best interest,not the countrys best interest.

ok... i suspect you wanted a more detailed post.

first of all, just after 911, i didn't have too
much of a problem with what happened. i had assumed
there would be an investigation, some paperwork,
well-paid secret agents sent out ... spies...
blah blah...

in fact, i actually thought there would be more
investigation and less cowboy blow-em-ups.

what bothered me most was the swiftness to war
not to mention the complete reversal from
bin laden to iraq... i'm never very trusting
of a government that believes in 'less talk,
more action' in regards to serious issues as WAR.

but i'm speaking well after the fact... and
well after all this new 'evidence' has surfaced...
so now i'm even MORE biased than i was before.
and besides... its hard for me to try and think
back to my immature thoughts back then.

sure i felt i was very correct back in 2001,
but that was before now... with all the other
bs that has surrounded '911'. (not that its
really surrounded 911... but 911 was the excuse)

meh... i wonder if 911 would have happened if
gore took his rightful position as president.

It's not easy bein' the leader of the free world....

Well, first of all, america isn't the 'leader' of the free world. More like the biggest strongest and richest kid on the block, so it's leader. But not out of leadership, but out of power.

And as far as 9/11 goes.. i'm sorry i have to put it this bluntly, sure, i wasn't there. Yes, it was not my country. No, i didn't lose anyone in that attack, but you need to go on with the whole life thing.
it's been a while. And there have been many deaths. Just like there are many deaths in several things. But i can't really grasp why a lot of you americans take it so personal? Sure it was an attack on your soil, an attack on a symbol of capitalism.. but why does that enrage you so?
If i put it really blunt. Some people killed a lot of people. In a bad way. But that's not something new. So why is an entire country up in arms and war about one incident?

The whole war on terrorism thing seems to have gotten it's own momentum, and i've seen and heard how america changed from a ..well.. slightly nationalistic country, considering the whole patriotism thing to a far fare more nationalistic country. I've heard of laws that put it steps close to a police state, and i've seen a president wage war on a country with a dictator on vague grounds, which , as it turns out to be, were even incorrect!
And please don't come with the "well, he was a dictator, and he had to be removed"-line. The entire country is chaos. Water,power, food, healthcare are nonexistent, with deaths every day in the chaos. Is that better for the people there?

So if i have to answer how i'd run things after 9/11 ? Mostly the same as i did before. Some mourning, rebuilding, and tracking of those responsible. And not inciting my voters in anger so i have to find me a scapegoat later.

And i dunno what you guys are gonna think about this rant, but it just had to come out.
