pretty cool. this is a nice PDF. i got a couple good reference books for christmas, "how to build speaker enclosures" and an altec seminar binder "sound system design" VINTAGE 1982 ALTEC LANSING SOUND SYSTEM DESIGN BINDER - SEE DETAILS
Many thanks OG for the link.
A nice file to add to the Altec collections.

Thinking about that 2x2 corner box, but likely 1x15. Have enough horns already.
Picked up a Harmon Kardon receiver that does 5.1, thinking about corner boxes for front channels. Straight boxes in rear and center. Nailed a 55 inch Samsung that had a cold solder joint for $100. Yes I'm a cheapskate.
But it seems only natural to use Altecs for movies.
Thanks! Nice to have these in pdf form: 1974 Enclosure Manual

Which edition?
Typical '70s, etc., ***censored*** tech manual. Surprised you'd waste any money on it.

could have sworn i posted a reply. (in this case i believe i have a bad cat6 line coming into the house)
first edition 11th printing 1975 copyright 1966, paperback. i only paid 7$. i find it interesting. :)
the binder on the otherhand is pretty cool. and i didn't pay 80 bucks for it. ;) but that's between me and Bryan.
Haven't seen any beyond the 8th ed. for sale [my last copy is 9th/'72/144 pg. paperback], so I wonder what, if any, updates it has [he asks rhetorically]. Does it discuss T/S box alignment theory?
Hey wait a minute. I DID NOT press dis like. And no AB. There is no undislike button. We need to get rid of it.
Sorry GM.
Anyway, Doesn't look like much beyond the 60s :)
No clue unless you're using a laptop mouse pad where you may have accidentally dragged the pointer over its 'hot' link. This is my first time using one and have already found out the hard way about this 'feature' numerous times and that the several different laptops I've tried all perform differently, especially WRT finger tap pressure and varying atmospheric effect on the skin/mouse pad surface, not to mention some sites have 'hot' links that need a proper mouse pad button/rocker switch to activate without having to 'hammer' it with my finger[s]. Also, my left index finger has no fingerprint and won't work except when 'hammering' the pad, so overall enough aggravation for me to warrant getting a wifi mouse next time they come on sale at BB, etc..

Well obviously you did Phil now you just have to find the undislike button Lol
It should be where the dislike button is. This is what I see Phil !

where is it now??
we have been over this too many times now. i am not stupid. i am, believe it or not, very proficient in VB code. i've tried telling you this a few times before. so this time i'll type REAL slow. you are a su per mod. your page has many more op tions than reg u lar mem bers. if you have an un dis like but ton, this is why. if you do not be lieve me. set up a dum my ac count and see for your self.

it only happens when I'm using a smartphone.it's very easy to touch the wrong part of the screen when you're scrolling through a page.
There is no way to delete 'dislike' on the page I get.
I am still waiting for AB to correct the 'dislike' attributed to me on the OP in the A7 Kitty Litter thread , dated October 31st 2015.
First off Phil I never said you were stupid ! But obviously your hitting a dislike button and may not know it. How else are they appearing at the bottom of a post ? Mah is also using this option. I think OG has used it before too IIRC. It is NOT a Moderator option ! I have no idea what your seeing or not seeing I'm not there. But the fact that other people can dislike a post says that it is there somewhere look for it. Try "Additional Options" ....

Well Mah this is the first I heard of it..I may miss a post here and there, if you feel like you need help with something then I suggest you send a PM.This will ensure the quickest response. And FYI I have no way to edit a dislike or Like or a Thank post.. Sorry !
please don't get upset about this AB. I like you on a personable level.
but the dislike button needs to be eliminated. the last two times i hit it, has been when i was using a stupid phone. i spose i could hack into to bb code and change it, but that would be illegal.
You have to complain to Steven he put that stupid thing in there...
Hi
Planning to built a unit incl. the GPA Altec 604-8H-III.

Thanks for help.

Hmm, I'm thinking he's wanting one, but I haven't done any Altec related drawings beyond the crudest of sketches of existing designs to figure net Vb, which I don't post, and can't remember anyone doing/posting a construction drawing of any my designs.
GM
OK I thought he had one to post... My Bad.
No biggie, at first I thought the same till I re-read it several times.
GM
Todd posted the Stonehenge V a while back, which I believe will suit the GPA III.
Hmm, FWIW it didn't show up for me in a search a little while ago: http://www.hostboard.com/forums/f700...ml#post1961891
GM
Sorry for the confusion.
I am looking for cabinet drawings appropriate for the Great Plains Audio 604-8H-III.
Why does not GPA supply these drawings if one is buying their units, strange. I am sure they will benefit and sell additional 604 units if they supply the drawings.
If interested in the GPA units you need to search the net, and still may question if these Altec cabinets ,as for example
the Stonehenge III or the Altec 620a , is directly adaptable to their unit.
Drawings are also missing the important information as where to place the fibreglass , thickness and density etc.
So request to GPA , please, include drawings with your units.

See note #9 for fibreglass placement.
