I didn't vote, but only because my registration ran out and by the time I realized that it was too late. But I would have voted Kerry.
I don't necessarily think Kerry would have done great things for this country; in fact I think some of his ideas are awful (for example he's for partial-birth abortion; no way am I), but I REALLY disagree with some of Bush's notions. Under Bush's govern, Roe vs. Wade could be overturned, and gay rights could become a historical term. That scares me AND sickens me.
But I'm not surprised he won, and to each his own.
cuz he has a Texas Drawl like me....yeah that's the reason...HaHaHa
*sobs quietly in corner*
we're all going to hell...
If he won FAIRLY then so be it. If this turns out to be some fiasco like the last time we elected someone ELSE, then I hope he dies of ghonnerhia and rots in hell.
OK thats off my chest, I am just glad it's over so we can all get back to what makes this board a cool assed family, GLAM, SLAM ROCK N ROLL!
He was up by some crazy shit like 3 million votes, but it looked closer due to the College. So this time was a fair win. The debate still stands about the last time though.
I do think the vote was fair this time. I mean, I know fuck all about politics but it seemed legit; by the end of things Bush was crazy far ahead. I'm not happy about the turnout of the election but it seems to be at least honest this time around.
Am I the only one who thinks Dubya resembles what would happen if a teddy bear mated with Alfred E. Neuman?
LMFAO@ Alfred and a Teddy Bear
It's TRUE!
Bush thinks Jesus is coming back. Maybe, but not to support Israel.
Why, because there are Mexicans in his family?
Yes, that's not new, Bush is a religious fanatic.
BAD for the US and BAD for the world.
Kerry is a Zionist supporter, in many ways even stronger than Bush. He actually tried to get the people here to believe he could get the support of France, Germany, etcetra in the adventurism he so dearly wants. Those countries are busy establishing trade associations so they won't be eaten up by the possessor of the most WMDs the world has ever known.
Not looking for who you voted for Jay, but is it safe to guess you went with the "other" option?
Maybe Kerry is a Zionist, I don't know about it but one thing is sure, here in Europe most people see him as more open to the world than Bush.
I just think that the mix of politics and religion is the worst thing ever.
But well, the only good consequence of it to me is that there will probably be a whole bunch of new angry bands in the U.S. Remember, the best American punk/hardcore bands were formed when Reagan was in power.

What, the OC shit, or New York horrorcore?
(...what...he actually knows the difference...)
[B]<font size=3 color=purple>I gotta say (slightly OT) that that particular type of Reagancore punk helped decimate the scene I was in...my opinion is music is for fun...politics should stay the hell out of RnR...At that point I turned to metal big time..but back on topic, I think from a Canadian perspective I believe the majority of Canadians are astonished Bush got back in...I personally never knew Harvard ran a graduate remedial program.. <img src="http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/icons/icon17.gif"
[B]<font size=3 color=purple> A zillion years back I went out to the Circle Jerks van after they did a show here and smoked a J with them ( which I have long given up)..I wanted to talk Rawk n Roll...but all I got was Reagan this Reagan that...what a bunch of dorks
Yeah, but "Killing For Jesus" is such a badass song!!!
yes Carl!... my favourite Circle Jerks album is "VI".
[B]<font size=3 color=purple>I saw a reunited version of them last year...just not my style..
IV is a killer album, though it had no right to be! By then they were gasping for air, and it took them forever to record the damn thing. But the end result is REALLY great. "I Don't" being a personal fave. Plus their cover of CCR's "Fortunate Son" is almost as blistering as the original. The songs that make them brilliant are "Shit Hits The Fan", "Killing For Jesus", "Making The Bomb", "Wonderful" and their version of "Wild In The Streets" is blistering.
Markii, I haven't seen them latley. But to this day, the most amazing live show I have ever seen for pure energy and angst and all that, was their original "Farewell" tour, back in '89 I think it was. I had seen them a few times before, but nothing compared to that nights show. They were simply amazing, and Keith Morris controlled the crowd like nobody I had ever seen, even during a point where everything should have fallen apart, he turned bad things happening into the most amazing thing I had ever seen. I hated the Jerks until I saw them live in '86 or so. I fell in love with them after that.
[B]<font size=3 color=purple>Well they certainly don't get by on their looks...they haven't aged well http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/icons/icon17.gif...at the the last show I went to it was a packed house and most were really into them, but as I've already stated, not my style..When I'm talkin U.S punk rock ,I'm stuck on the old school east coast stuff ...big surprise . <img src="http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/icons/icon12.gif"
[B]<font size=3 color=purple>Yessir, the dreads are still there <img src="http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/graemlins/gulp.gif"

LOL!!! Brilliant!!!
LOL!!! You kidding? Back in the day they couldn't get by on their looks either! Keith Morris has always been a tad on the ugly side of life. I can only imagine how he is doing nowdays. Does he still have the dreads rolling? Yeah, nothing says GQ quite like a 40+ year old Punk with dreadlocks!
Yeah, that one cracked me up.
I was gonna skip the fine print, but then I realized.....it'z all in the fine print.
How in the hell do you do that Bill? (That's rhetorical btw. It'd be beyond me.)
The Circle Jerks were a great band. "Wonderful" is an amazing album.
"Well, hello Mrs Jones, good neighbour Sam, how are ya doing?
While you're workin' 9 to 5 do you know what your kids are doing?"
...and this thread further degenerates into yet another discussion of the merits of ragged clothing, dirt and disease, and the promtion of musical illiteracy as a style.
Hey...since you SOOO fucking clearly want me to discuss my past again, did you know that I know Jello Biafra? Not as Jello, but as Eric What'shisname.
If I can't beat, them...
Actually the Jerks are far from talentless, and they never tried to hide the fact that they are quite good at playing and writing music. Keith Morris is by far the least talented, and even he shines 99% of the time.
Jello was a great lyricist, but he has gone off his rocker in the past number of years. Such a shame, as he was great once upon a time. Well, lyric wise, voice wise he was always an aquired taste.
I agree with you on some Punks Jay, but the Jerks really were a "wonderful" band, and Keith Morris is an amazing talent when it comes to whistleing.
I love both bands...Circle Jerks and Dead Kennedys...Other bands worth noting...Flipper, Germ, Discharge, Black Flag, just a few bands I grew up listening to and love to this day.
Agreed with Carl though on Biafra's vocal style...it was an acquired taste for sure.
Love it though, especially the DK tune Chemical Warfare.
Black Flag and the Circle Jerks were the same damn band in the beginning, so you had better like 'em both. I just started to HATE Flag once it became the Rollins show.
Jay...are you still reading?
Of course...
Hey, anyone interested in some China White? How about a razor blade personally used by Stiv Bators to slash his wrists with? Why didn't Steve Leckie ever kill himself on stage as he promised he would? Was Pat Smear Darby Crash's first boyfriend or last? Did Butch Larkin ever really throw a chair at someone or even spit at them? Why didn't those who threw shit at Johnny Ripoff in Texas just shoot the deranged bohemian dead? How did a piece of shit such as Nancy Spungeon ever live, if that's the correct word, as long as she did?? Did Down-Low Dougie have AIDS when he died, from all those years of whoring himself out to men? How long will it take until the rest of the worst fucking excuse for a band in the past, present, and future of the entire cosmos dies off? If Patti Smith was really a nigger, was she ever lynched? When will people admit that Ian Stuart was the truest expression of the nihilistic fascism that was punk, as Charles Manson was to the hippies?
[B]<font size=4 color=purple>Everyone pulls hype stunts in the biz for notoriety....except myself...How do you know of Steve Leckie ? ..Thought the Viletones were a Canadian thang...
[B]<font size=4 color=purple>My query is starting to grow mold..http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/icons/icon17.gif
