Hi everybody!
We here at RGA inc. have come up with a brand spanking NEW game for you!
Here's how it works:
If you recognize any of these lyrics and can name the song they come from, you'll get one point.
If you can name the artist who performs the song you also get one point.
Who ever gets the most points wins!! Very straight forward contest eh?
I will also throw in a huge atta-boy for the first place winner and a pretty big one for the second place winner and, of coarse, the standard "thanks for playing" will be afforded all other contestants!
I hope we can have tons of fun with this here game folks!
Here we go then! Good luck!

Hi there G!
Wo-ho! A new competition!!
Oh dear, this seems to be a tough one.
I recognized # 17 ( unfortunate to late)
But that Talking Head song (#12) must be "Once In A Lifetime"
And #8 seems familiar to me, but I cant remember the title.
I think I need moore coffee

Well Well Well.....We have two contestants already and they have one thing in common. They both give highly accurate answers and they are both Gorgeous Gals! Oh wait...that's two things rather than the aforementioned one thing!
CCfan >You are correct about #20 being written by Mwah! You now have one point and it's clear you are no stranger to DANGER but do you know the song title?
Schemy >You are correct about all of your answers except for the song title on #12 which IS a Talking Heads song so you now have 15 points! An excellent showing if I do say so myself!
So anyway, I'll pass this on to my staff in the morning and we'll put together a revised list right here on LYRICS R US!
Once again...GRRRRREAT showing you two!
Goodnight!

I have to push the pram a lot. Monty Python-the minstrel's song from the Holy Grail.
I was close the first time. I knew it was Monty. He's nuts. He'd fit right in.
-
#3-Heart shaped box by Nirvana.
I never get the title right to that song on the first try. It was popular, but ya don't hear it much anymore. Ok, did I take first place yet ? I'm still working on the others with a friend of mine that's an R n R encyclopedia. He knows a buncha oddball stuff.
-
Oh, oh, oh, I got it. It's the Camelot song from the Holy Grail. Yea ! One more for the Farmboy. I'm comin' up on first place.
-
#13-Cyndi Lauper-She Bop
Do I want to go out with a lion's roar?
Yeah, I want to go south and get me some more.
They say that a stitch in time saves nine.
They say I better stop or I'll go blind
Woof Woof ! Took me awhile to place that one. That's an oldie but a goodie.
-
I have good news and bad news Iowa!
First the good news:
#3 Heart Shaped Box is the correct title of that Nirvana song!
Now the bad news:
#16 The Minstrel's Song is incorrect. You are right about it being from The Holy Grail film though! hint hint
Yeah that Monty is a nut alright! LOL!
You now have 13 points and are still in second place.
SCHEMESofNEON is still in the lead with 15 points!
Here's what's left folks! Anything look familiar?!?!
Good luck!!!
07. A simple sound that shines, a word of power personified.
11. Some you win, some you lose, some you compromise.
13. I wanna go out with a lions roar!
14. Life is love and love is never wrong.

#20 There is something wonderful about Cherie
-
20. Cherie is beautiful in every way!?!
-
I wanna take a shot at #20 from the words in the title.
"The sum of all that's beautiful, I name thee, Cherie."
Now if ya had rowdy in there, I'd hafta go with Joan Marie.
-
I'm soooooo sorry CCfan but,
#20 There's Something Really Wonderful About Cherie is incorrect! Although that same sentiment is expressed, in the song in question, that's a totally different song!
Here is a #20 hint for you. The words in the title are also words in the clue!
Thanks for and keep on trying!!!
Yes Iowa, you have now moved into the lead position! With three more points, you now have 16 points to Schemy's 15 points. This is a neck and neck race, 4 sure!
#13 She Bop by Cyndi Lauper is correct on both counts! (I hope HE will understand.)
#16 The Camelot Song is close enough, IMO.
It's actually called 'Knights Of The Round Table' and it's from the scene in the movie when King Arthur and his goofy Knights do routines and chorus scenes and sequine vests between their quests!
We're Knights of the round table
our shows are formidable
but many times we're given rhymes
that are quite unsingable
it's a busy life in camelot
I have to push the pram alot!

OKIE DOKIE FOLKS, we are getting down to the wire ere. There is still time to weigh in here on 'Lyrics R Us' so don't wait, don't hesitate, jump right in with a great big grin!

I got one for ya. No points, though. It just started ringing in my feeble last night for some reason while I was reading the Godfather. Anyway, the lyrics are:
Refrain
"A little bit of love is better than no love
And even a bad love is better than no love
Cuz any kind of love is better than no love at all"
The song is from the very early 70's and I thought maybe the Partridge Family did it, but I'm not sure. Good luck. It's driving me up the wall now cuz I can't remember who did it.

DANG! i feel a bit i only know two
#4 Secrets

LOL! Did anyone ever hear the song "Hot Cherie" by Danny Spanos? (I heard that Neal Shon covered the song in a later project.) Great song.
Hey Cherie, was that song written for you???
I can't manage to locate the lyrics online, but I remember them as being pretty racy. Maybe Mr. Danger will have more success than I?
P.S. I found a couple of copies on ebay:
Danny Spanos LP on Ebay
Hot Cherie Vinyl 45 on Ebay

I'll work on it. I give up on the other lyrics. I just can't place 'em. I pretty well toasted my gray cells on the Monty Python number. I still crack up on the Black Knight scene.
-
Good evening folks!
Our judges have determined that, to be fair, CCfan's last answer should have been accepted.
#20 'Cherie is beautiful in every way' has been ruled "close enough" to 'Beautiful Cherie' and so that point goes to CCfan!
That puts you in third place CCfan! CCongratulations to you!!!!!
Can you believe it's been 2 1/2 years since I wrote that little ditty?
Alma! It's nice seeing you here on 'Lyrics R Us' and elsewhere too!
Oh heck, it's just nice seeing YOU, period!
Nope rocketmaster, I haven't heard of 'Hot Cherie' by Danny Spanos or Neal Shon but I'll run it by my friend Mr. Goggle asap!
If Mr. Spanos has ever met Cherie, then there is a good possibility she inspired that song, IMO!
I'll have a look-see at the eBay items too, thanks!
Here's what is left folks and here is a hint:
At least one of these songs is performed by Cherie Currie!
And now, on with the show!
07. A simple sound that shines, a word of power personified.
11. Some you win, some you lose, some you compromise.
14. Life is love and love is never wrong.
-
Cherie's "Young and Wild" were later covered by both Van Halen and Venus. I haven't heard Hot Cherie. And I still give up the other lyrics. I still can't place 'em.
-
Hint time -->One of these songs is 'Moonshine Lullaby' by Cherie Currie,
but which one?
You can listen to a 'song sample download' here and figger it out:

Good luck!

Hmm, my system won't download the realplayer, but I'm listening to a buncha Cherie's songs on CDNOW. I gotta confess, I really haven't listened to a lot of her solo songs till now. And I call myself a rocker. I'm so ashamed.
-
Oh, oh, oh, I got a couple picks here. Farmboy really likes "This Time" and "Since You've Been Gone" ain't too shabby either. I like Cherie's lower octave vocals on "This Time." I'm listening to some of the tunes from "Messin' with the Boys" right now.
-
Think I'm gonna go with Young and Wild for a Jettmas present to myself. BTW, Cherie Bomb, some fool had the audacity to compare you to Stevie Nicks in the comments section for the CD songs. They're in shock therapy now and doing somewhat better. Their therapist said they can go outside once a day now provided they wear one of those white jackets with the sleeves in the back.
-
Well im so glad you finally hear he'r solo work is hot isent it?
You have to buy all of he'r records Farmer. They are all to good to miss.
Young and wild and Messin' with the boys are very good and Beauty's only skin deep is wonderful. But the Ataste of Cherie Currie is my favorite at this time. That cd has it all. You have to get it.
All i wan't is my favorite song.
Go Cherie go Cherie go Cherie

Gus, you funny!

Sorry those answers are incorrect.
No wait. Those aren't answers! Ha! Or were they?
Ya gotta be pretty quick to fool me! LOL!

GD
-
Well , you know what they say....Some you win, some you lose and some you compromise! - hint, hint!
-
OK, even a cabbage head like me can get that one. Some you win, some you lose, some you compromise. Moonshine Lullabye by Cherie Currie. Yea ! The Farmboy got it ! Duh
Think I'm gonna pick up a couple of Cherie CDs next week. I'll order 'em from Rocket City. More bucks go to Cherie that way with no "middle man" costs. This has nothing to do with anything on here, but why do budgies (parakeets) nibble on your ears ? I'm having a discussion with Pink Beat on the Jett messageboard and we're talking about forming a punk rock band comprised of parakeets and gerbils on drums and instrumental. Never mind. It would take forever to explain. Accept that all Joan Jetters don't sail on a even keel.
-
I'm still chuckling about Cherie being compared to Stevie Nicks. Oh, pull-eeeeeeezzzzze. I like Fleetwood Mac, but let's get serious now.
-
Hello everybody,
Our judges have been unable to agree on anything these days so I am taking the reigns before our ratings totally plummet here on Lyrics R Us!
Schemy...You seemed to know the answer but you didn't actually say the song title.
The two points therefore must go to the Iowan.
#11 is indeed MOONSHINE LULLABY by Cherie Currie!
You now have 18 points Iowa but Schemy is still in the race with 15 points. There are 4 more points available in this contest!
Here's what's left folks!
07. A simple sound that shines, a word of power personified.
14. Life is love and love is never wrong.
Good luck!

Guess what Gus Turkey. I got one. #7 is Cherie's song Believe. It took a while for it to register. Two points for me! I hope everyone had a happy Thanksgiving!
