As much as i love Steevi Jaimz era Tigertailz (`Young & Crazy` being my fave Tigertailz album) i would MUCH rather see the PROPER Tigertailz play. You can't have bloody Tigertailz without Pepsi and Jay in my opinion and you can all say what you like lol! Pepsi and Jay ARE Tigertailz. So their (The PROPER Tigertailz and original WELSH Tigertailz) image aint that glam going by those rehearsal pix? Ah well.. as long as the music fucking kicks arse innit
All the best to Steevi and the new Tigertailz he has, but in my opinion... they are just a shadow of the newly reformed Pepsi and Jay version. Kim Hoooker is a KILLER vocalist and i loved Bezerk to bitz but my fave ever album was Young & Crazy... Steevi was awesome on that album and i am not trying to take anything way from Kim with that... i guess when Kim joined Tigertailz... the lineup was complete and kicking arse. Tigertailz are fucking WELSH! Alwayz will be (I know Ace was American and as his name sez, is an "Ace" drummer and again... was a big part of Tigertailz and he wasn't welsh... but he was there from the start i guess).
Tigertailz... welsh and proud glam band and always will be. Good luck to both sidez of Tigertailz but again... Tigertailz without Pepsi and Jay.... can't have it
Rant over

i have to agree with you Andi, Steevi and Ace's version has the look, but to me Jay, Pepsi, and Kim's version will be more Tigertailz to me, just wish they still looked like tigertailz though, but the music should still be tigertailz and that's the main thing
Yeah i feel the same way Jonni but hey... as long as the music kicks arse then i am happy
Kim, Jay and Pepsi keep the welsh glam flag flying i guess. Tigertailz started out a welsh band and alwayz will be in my opinion

Oh and no offense... but i REALLY didn;t rate that Steevi Tigertailz demo with the cover of "Tiger Feet" on. Again, just my opinion
Okay see? As you can tell, i am all over the fucking place here lol! LOVED Young & Crazy and though Bezerk kicked arse... Wazbones was okay, but way too different to Bezerk in my opinion. Good album but the transfer over to that heavier style was too quick lol! Good album though.
All i am TRYING to put across is... Steevi.. i love as a vocalist and his era with the Tailz was fucking great and i missed the guy when he left. IN steps Kim formerly of Rankenlson on vocalz and fuck me... that guy could sing! Bezerk turned out to be a blinder and still has regular playz here and alwayz will.(If you are Welsh like me... maybe this is fucking stupid but hearing that orchestra on tracks like Heaven etc.... it FEELS Welsh. Sound stupid? I dont give a fuck what you think, it just does. I saw this band in St. Davids Hall in Cardiff on that Bezerk tour and the show they shot the vid for.... i was proud as hell to be welsh that night and it STILL remains my best gig ever... even though i have seen Motley Crue, Ratt, Skid Row, White Lion, Pretty Boy Floyd, etc... too many to name lol! Tigertailz were amazing to watch live... and this is the Tigertailz with Kim, Pepsi and Jay. Never saw them live with Steevi although i have the bootlegs and they were ace though). Loved it!).
I love BOTH Tigertailz albumz (Young & Crazy and Bezerk) and i still have all the Steevi/Kim demoz here.... but seriously.... Tigertailz iz Pepsi and Jay'z baby and alwayz will be.

I respect the other Tigertailz but I cannot fake for me Steevi is the best singer in history of metallic Rock'n Roll and love all the stuff he has written and sung throughout all his career. That's the reason why I only support Steevi's version of Tigertailz. But of course I don't have anything against the other ones. I wish them the best. It's so easy, after Steevi was replaced by Kim I wasn't interested anymore in Tigertailz though Ace was still playin' there.
Mr. Sleazy... i too loved Steevi with the Tailz... hey i live near these guys lol! but let'z face it, when Kim joined, Tigertailz went from strength to fucking strength and to give up on Tigertailz because Steevi left is bloody stupid lol! NO offense, but come on. You cannot deny that Kim is an amazing vocalist and did awesome thingz for the Tailz.
I think Kim is a great vocalist! And I loved the looks, the music and lyrics in Bezerk. I also got all their other following albums and demos but I cannot consider myself a diehard fan of the later Tigertailz stuff. Anyway, it's great news that we have both line-ups working and bringing back the name and the groove! Long life to TIGERTAILZ no matter who's under that name.
By the way Mr. Sleazy... you can't be a TRUE Tigertailz fan if you ditch on the band that actually created Tigertailz.... that being Pepsi and Jay. Come on mate.
Yeah.. long live Tigertailz... i agree. Tigertailz.. WELSH band and alwayz will be
Oh by the way Mr. Sleazy, wasn't you banned from the OFFICIAL WELSH Tigertailz board for spamming the Steevi Jaimz Tigertailz? lol!
From what i heard you did nothing but slate Kim, Pepsi and Jay's Tigertailz on that board.
Don't get me wrong i too love Steevi'z shit... even St.Jaimz(I have live bootlegz too!), Jaimz Gang, War Party etc... and as you know, Young & Crazy.. the guy is ace!!! But i don't really slag off both bands. All i will say is... the PROPER Tigertailz deserve the mentioned gig this topic is about. Image or not... they deserve it. After all... this IS the proper Tigertailz i am talking about
Fuck... i need to shut up.. and am doing so now.. sorry to readers out there LOL!
Am I the only one who always thought Steevi was a David Lee "wannabe"? No offense meant to the guy, as I think his stuff is great (aside from that new boring piece of junk), but he sounds like DLR to me.
Steevi rulz! *monkeygirl starts a fight, throwing bananaskins around* :-)
Might actualy go 2 that fest,if manage 2 get time off and somewhere 2 stay there.Should be kewl, all those glambands and glampeeps :-)
What is Steevi trying to prove??
He isn't in Tigertailz and hasnt been for a very long time.
Why cant Steevi just call his project something else??
No offense to Tigertailz (im a fan off there stuff) but its hardly the best band NAME in the world. Pretty pointless stealing it.
In my opinion a band without Pepsi Tate is not Tigertailz.
Totally agree with the above comment. Without Pepsi, you can't have Tigertailz lol!
I love both Tigertailz....with Jay and with Steevi. Both were cool.
But....
Ya gotta be about 100% Music and 100% Image.
I'd rather see a band with an image than a band that looks like they just walked off the street selling umbrella hats.
Okay let's say Steevi and Ace's music isn't TTailz style, but I'd go see their version of the band rather than seeing Jay and Pepsi's lack of image version. To me, it just wouldn't be the same...them singing LOVE BOMB BABY with the image of a Walmart Nightly Shelf-Stocker.
That is...if by the pics...that's the image they are gonna portray.
Oh by the way...I hope Jay and Pepsi aren't gonna be one one those so called musicians...who try to hide their glam past and pretend to hate or have no part in that cliche style. Musicians like that are lame and idiots...LOL!!!...sorry I call it like I see it.

I see what you mean Raggz, image is important... but they're all getting old, so im more interested in the music at this time.. i just hope Pepsi's version doesnt offer up something like Motley Crue's crappy new song, or someting retro haha... Kim seems to be the most enthusiastic about Tigertailz, so it will be interesting to hear what kinda vocals he can bring out in 2005.
A KAT NAMED RAGGZ WROTE:-
I have to agree, in my experience, the name "Tigertailz" has always been/always will be associated with "Glam", (personally, i'm not bothered where they hailed from, Wales or Mars = NOT IMPORTANT), all Tigertailz line-ups looked and sounded great.Quote:

If i go see them again, i still want that whole package, what's wrong in wanting the full "show" we became addicted to back in the day?
So hats off to Steevi for still making that effort, and great news he's landed headline act at the festival.

But sometimes an image CAN NOT be continued. In that case, just make the tunes work. I personally feel image should be the second thought out of a band. If your tunes work, then start to care about the looks, but NEVER place them before the tunes. I will hold judgement until I hear the Kim/Jay/Pepsi version. I have heard and seen the Steevi/Ace version, and looks or not, they fucking sucked. I don't care if they are the coolest looking band out there, the music bit. But, if the Kim version doesn't have the looks, but the music is great, I will still buy it. If you won't buy it due to the looks alone, you're an idiot.
And before anybody starts saying "obviously he thinks this way because he is bald", my last band looked the part, but our bassist did not at all. Hell, he looked like the vocalist from The Spin Doctors. BUT he was easily the best bassist we knew hands down, so he was in and he complimented every song brilliantly and I would LOVE to work with the guy again. Lost touch though. So no, this isn't a new opinion. Even when I had the looks, music was still the main key, looks were an after thought.

Er......i don't believe i said that.
Incidently, I dont ever buy anything on looks alone, bear in mind, Steevi's "King of the World" is only a demo, heard the welsh demo's?.. .. they sucked too!
Personally, I'm waiting to hear both versions new albums before i pass judgement on the music
BUT Tigertailz are an image band, no escaping it!

I agree Carl...Music first...Looks second....has to be 100% on both departments in my opinion.
Sure Music comes first in a long shot...but look at it this way...If a band that had no image, yet had the music that would catch the eye of a record label....You bet the label would press them with an image...because the label is gonna want the full package.

Didn't say you did say that. Just there is a "vibe" going on that image is the most important aspect. Heck, Raggz says they both have to be 100%, but then says music needs to be the main aspect. In that case then, they both are not 100%, silly Kitty.
I'm just saying lets not slam the Kim version until they suck. The music might be too damn good to pass up, and even with the looks, they could very well do it live. They might not be looking 100% right with "Love Bomb", but they look fine for "Sick Sex". TTailz have always been a little bit heavier and more intense than your standard bands that carried that look, and that was why fans of Death Metal also enjoyed Tailz. I am not expecting too much out of them in the ways of "Heaven", "Love Bomb", "Livin' Without You" or any of the other more standard "Hair Band" tunes they would do, but rather am expecting more of the heavy Glam that they would do. Ya know?
I know those are demos from Steevi, but sucky tunes are sucky tunes. "King Of The World" could have been a great song, but I can point out exactly where it goes bad, and I can even point out where it should have gone. That is what is so bad about that song, it's too damn easy to hear the great song hiding in it, and your mind wants it to go to that great song, instead it turns bad. It is almost as if Steevi knew where it should go, and to be tricky, chose to go some place else. It is like that new Metallica album, they tried to be too tricky, and instead went against where the song should have taken you to.
Don't take this as an attack yeahgreat!!! I see what you are saying, and it's cool. Welcome on board, BTW!!!
Hi All,
Just getting in on it....i love Glam, loved the Tailz, i have favorite tracks from BOTH line-ups, but sorry, i do agree with A KATT NAMES RAGGZ also.........
WE WANT THE IMAGE TOO!
By saying that I DO NOT mean i don't care about the music, far from it, I care too much - i.e I couldn't face Kim's version going out looking like that with "Love Bomb Baby".
It would break my heart - Sorry
Looking the way they do these days, I can see them concentrating more on the Wazbones-style stuff. Camp, poppy stuff by them would be laughable now.
On the looks/sounds debate, I'm with Carl. Some bands out there might look the mutt's nuts, but if they're shit, it won't help. As the saying goes, you can't polish a turd.
I meant Carl was that sure Music is first....but you gotta have Image as well. Both are 100% important to me when a band is to get on stage. I could surely see a band that had good music with just T-shirts and jeans...with lack of what they look like...But, a band with the full package(Music and Image) would get more recognition.
Yeah Carl...that's just my opinion...others may not agree...but that's me talking...of what I like. A band that changes their image to fit the era...and still doing the same old songs can be succesful. Look at David Bowie, Bon Jovi. Also, bands that have stuck with the old style as Aerosmith and The Rolling Stones are still going at it music and Image. So, what I'm saying is a band can live with a new image or still do the old image and still be great.

From you, right? This world is still in the land of "no image is a good thing". Lets face it, if TTailz attempted to go live looking as they did in '90, they would be laughed off the world stage more than likely. They can't look like that and expect any real success. With that being said, can you even see them carrying the new "Glam" look, such as Beautiful Creatures, and still doing "Love Bomb Baby"? Unless they are in TTailz outfits circa '91, then songs like "Love Bomb" just won't seem right.Quote:

Its 2005 i don't expect Tigertailz to look that good lol
But at the same time, if they was a new band, i dont think they'd get signed, coz image is important today to sell records, unfortunate, but thats just the truth.
Also if Steevi does release an album under Tigertailz, i for one wouldnt count it in the Tigertailz discography.
