There was an old news interview with the guys from black flag talking all about it floating around on the net. I'll see if I can find it for you.

And they show a lot of clips of different things, they talk a lot about police and punk conflicts. Its actually pretty good.
I was wondering if any body on here has a news clipping or some news footage of the media discriminating against punk rockers. I'm doing a documentary on the punk movement for school and it would be a huge favor.

rent the sex pistols documentary "the filth and the fury". It came out last year and you can find everything you need there. England in the late 70's gave you all the descrimination you can handle. Overall, If you can make it through all the thick accents, the movie was very good.

the current Varla issue has some info from black flag 1st 4 years but it's mostly about them and not "punk"...
as for movies that have info of the "punk movement" try "decline of the western civilization" and "surburbia" both from penelope spheeris "surburbia" is more entertainment w/truth tied in and "decline" is a documentary of the period with bands of that time...

did you go to the exploited gig in huntington park , it think it was 83...
cops shut it down w/ all punx out in the streets bad area that was, people getting beat, thrown through windows, not too fun...

You might also try picking up a copy of Henry Rollins book "Get In the Van" It is more or less a diary of his Black Flag days, so it is kinda a pain to get through, but there is some good stuff in there.

I was at that fucked up Black Flag show at Katella HS. They played under a false name.
Things got way out of hand that day as well.
